Upgrading to larger SSD. Do I "clone" current one?

Thanks for that! A few error messages popped up but it kept continuing on and said it completed. Same amount of space used as on my current drive, files all there etc so I guess the error messages wouldn't have mattered and it'll be alright to replace my current SSD?
Try it and see. There seems to be a problem with vss in your current installation. Hopefully the migration is fine. If not, an alternative is to do the os migration by clicking "Reboot to winpe" instead of "Hot Migration". That is why it is there.

Because of the errors, it is probably worth checking the source and target using DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

I'm so f%&$#@g embarrassed. After all that, when opening up my laptop, I realised I had gotten the wrong SSD  For some reason I thought I needed a 2.5inch after I did a scan. No idea why I thought that. Clearly need a M.2.
At least the RAM I purchased with it was correct :ROFLMAO:
Ah, thanks SO MUCH everyone for the help. I'll see if I can get this SSD returned for the right one and do it all again.
Thanks so much guys

EDIT: So this is why I thought I needed the 2.5 inch. Did another crucial scan and the internal storage it shows is the 2.5 inch ones. Is there a way they can fit? Is it wrong? Am I missing something completely here lol? RAM & SSD Upgrades | acer | Aspire 5 A515-52 | Crucial UK

This mistake can happen to anyone.

If you can not return the SSD you can make it a nice external Backup drive.
