You do not list your specs for that laptop but the Precision M4800 is a 4th generation laptop and does not meet the requirements for Windows 11 at all. Compatible (core)CPUs are 8th generation or later. Whomever you purchased it from used a windows install workaround for incompatible hardware. While such devices will get normal windows updates, they WILL NOT get version updates. In order to upgrade from 24h2 to 25h2 you can try downloading and manually installing the enablement package (KB5054156) from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Microsoft Update Catalog

If it doesn't work, report back and we can tell you how to download the iso, alter it with Rufus, and do an inplace upgrade

In your specs it says: "Manufacturer/Model Dell Latitude E5430 23H2.......... Dell Precision M4800 24H2"

As @glasskuter spotted, your Precision is not a supported device as it has a 4th gen Intel cpu - and neither is the Latitude, that came with either a 2nd or 3rd gen processor.

Doesn't mean they can't run Win11 well, just that for a major feature update you'd need to use a workaround. Even a 1st gen i5 can run the latest builds, look at my System Two below.

Luckily for us MS have got into the habit of every 2nd feature update being by enablement package - those install on unsupported systems without any system checks. Those were for 22H2>23H2 and 24H2>25H2. The others required an in-place upgrade with a workaround to bypass the checks. You'd need one to to upgrade your E5430 to 24H2, for example.

Rufus is one of several ways, it's Option One in Brink's tutorial. It's not the one I use though, I prefer Options Two or Three.

Thanks for that, I have updated my specs......the Lattitude wouldn't update from 23H2 to 24H2, so I installed W10 on that machine........the perils of buying secondhand laptops I'm afraid........

What processor does it have? According to Dell it could be any of these: Intel® CoreTM i3, i5 and i7 up to i7-35xxM; Intel® Celeron® Bxxx processors.

All of those support the SSE4.2 instruction set required to run 24H2 or later. If you couldn't update from 23H2 to 24H2 then it can only be that you weren't using the right workaround.

I have to admit that I gave up on it too soon.........I will have to check the specs. for it........just wondering if it's worth trying to upgrade it back to W11......I have the W11 OS on a flash drive, which I created using RUFUS.......

The specs for your Dell Latitude E5430 can't be any lower than those of my System Two, a Dell Latitude E4310 with a 1st gen i5. It's a model from 2010, two years before yours. It does help that it now has 8GB RAM and an SSD.

I have it multi-booting 25H2 and Insider builds up to the latest Canary build 26H1.

Well, not a very good start at upgrading to W11.......stuck the flash drive in, pressed F12, and it comes up Invalid Partition Table.......can someone explain what this means please ?.......and possibly walk me through the correct BIOS settings..........

Are you trying to Upgrade Win 10 to Win 11 or do a Clean install of Win 10?
To upgrade you boot into Win 10 and run Setup.exe on the Rufus drive.
To do a Clean install you must boot the Rufus installation drive, delete all partitions and then proceed.

Windows can be installed in two ways: Legacy-MBR or UEFI-GPT
To install as Legacy-MBR you must boot the installation drive as Legacy
To install as UEFI-GPT you must boot the installation drive as UEFI.

You may be booting the Rufus installation drive as Legacy and your computer is UEFI-GPT or booting the Rufus installation drive as UEFI and your computer is Legacy-MBR.

Boot normally and open a CMD window as administrator and type:

diskpart
list disk (it will list all drives)
Exit (to exit diskpart)

On the GPT column does it has a * ?

It doesn't seem to make any difference, if it's on Legacy boot, or UEFI boot.......still get the same message........Invalid Partition Table......

Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
chkdsk c: /f
It will say your disk is in use and ask if you want to schedule to next start = yes
Restart

Back to Windows, open a CMD window as administrator and type:
sfc /scannow

If it finds any corrupted files, fixing or not, reboot and run again

Then run
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
and
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Run disk cleanup (%windir%\system32\cleanmgr.exe) to clean all temporary files.

Well, thanks for all the help, and suggestions, but I have decided to keep running W10 on the Dell Latitude......tried Rufus, and Flyoobe to no avail........
