I just wondered why a lot of people get Windows 11 and then try to change things back to make it look like Windows 10?
If people don't like the new OS why not stick on Windows 10?
I am not saying what's right or wrong I am just curious

My aging grandma barely learned how to use 7. She did not want to re-learn and I made 10 to look like 7, but she went for a tablet instead and said 'How wonderful that I can make the pics and letters larger by spreading my fingers! That's what you should have given me in the first place! Oh, well ...

I used to fiddle with things, but no plans to move the TaskBar to the left (or anywhere else). My Win10 had small icons for the TaskBar and I missed that with Win11, but have gotten used to the standard size. Not going to mess with that.
Standard is fine with me, but to each their own.

Everyone has their own preferences, some will like the appearance of Windows 10 and how they can set it up but prefer the more up to date internal workings of Windows 11. Some will like to tinker just to see what can and can not be changed.
It is still early days in the evolution of as I say "W10 Take 2" so what it can or can not do to people's needs is still a way off.
For me, "if it aint broken" leave it as is.
But like all things new, users will determine what they want and how it is set up to suit their individual needs.

I couldn't care less how Microsoft wants any version of Windows to look. As long as it's on my computer and I can customize it to my liking, that's what I'll do. Anyway, I happen to think 11 looks rather cheap in its native state. But of course, that's just my odd take on it. ;)

Curiously, lots of people dislike the current thing until it's replaced by the newer thing and then they rave about how much better the old thing was.

My issue with W11 is that many useful features are removed but nothing useful has been added.

So far, this is a retrograde development, with emphasis on how pretty it is rather than how useful it is.

So far, W11 is really poor.

I am "cautiously" using the Start11 Beta to customize Windows 11 to my liking. Stardock has been at this for a very long time and its only five bucks. However, I just bought Zorin OS 16 Pro where you install a Windows 11 like look if you wish

I don't mind if they want Win 11 to have the options to adjust the user interface for a tablet or a phone.. or even for touch. But it should be an "option", and not fixed that way.

They even patched the registry hacks for the Start Menu and the right click menus.
That's not right.

I know this isn't the RTM version, but I don't foresee MS changing their apparent "attitude" about Windows 11.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
I don't refer that MS should take the system requirements too far.

Things that I don't like:
1. The right click menu.
Why? Because I'm sick with making zillions of click to make an 7z.
2. Win32 apps does not support Dark Mode.
Why? I hate when I use a app with no native Dark Mode support. [Custom UXTheme fixes that]
3. and others.

My issue with W11 is that many useful features are removed but nothing useful has been added.

So far, this is a retrograde development, with emphasis on how pretty it is rather than how useful it is.

So far, W11 is really poor.
I know how you feel, I think I would staay on 10 in that case

Thanks for all the replies, I found it really interesting what people think.
I like to tinker, but not change too much so I get use to the new OS, however I expect it will change many times over the coming months

It looks like we are downgrading to Windows 8.
