I am sorry the crystal ball is a little hazy today. Can you give us more information?

What media player are you using to play MP3's
If an MP3 file is loaded into you media player, or is opened, you cannot change the tags in the Properties of the file accept in the players app.
Did you install any software/app since you were not able to fill out the tags?
Did you try a System Restore to when it was working?

With the file closed, what happens when you right click an MP3 file and choose Properties/Details tab.
Can you edit the title,

Try a 3rd party app Mp3 Tag Editor - Free Online Audio Metadata Editor

Sorry. I use the latest version of MPC-HC. I've been using it for years. I edit my mp3's by right clicking, then Properties/Details. I can't edit any info there, any longer. I could try a 3rd party app, but I'd like to figure out why I can't do it the usual way.

Start a Command Prompt as Admin, copy and paste or type
DISM /Online /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RestoreHealth and press enter. When that ends type
SFC /scannow and press enter. This replaces and missing system files.
type the second command again until you see the message
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations

If you still have issues it may be due to to Windows inability to read ID3 V2.4 meta tags. The simplest method I have found to fix (that doesn't involve re-encoding) is to use tag editing software like the afore mentioned app in post #2

I tried your advice, but it didn't work. Then I remembered installing Icaros recently, to help with viewing MKV properties. I uninstalled Icaros and my problem is solved. Thanks anyway for your advice.

I had the same problem a while back where Windows suddenly stopped letting me edit MP3 details, so it's interesting seeing others run into it too. I only got mine working again after I re-saved the file with another tag editor. Lately I just use <a href="https://mp3tag.world/" rel="nofollow ugc">mp3tag.world</a> to keep my files’ tags in order so I don’t have to deal with this kind of issue as often.
