Solved Widgets completely missing


I do agree that winget seems to be the problem. How the heck did something like that disappear? And why can't I get it back?

Can you go to command line and do a winget (enter)
You should see something like this:

So it does look like winget is "missing". How does that happen? And how can I get it back? I guess I could restore to an older point, but I hate to do that.

This is where winget.exe should reside, _ version may differ_

I tried both as Admimistrator and normal, and get the same thing both times. I tried just typing winget from a command prompt on another computer and it came up with the long list as OAT pointed out. So that definitely seems like the problem.

Could be some corruption in the profile.
Can you enable Admin?

Code: 
net user administrator /active:yes  (enter)

Logout and select Admin from the lock screen and try the winget command again.

So I think I found it. I searched for"winget not installed", and it led me to this page in options, and sure enough, it was turned off. No freakin' idea why, but I turned it back on and it let me run the

It must be because your winget is not in PATH.
you should see the winget.exe file appear at C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps

This worked!!! I just turned it on, ran the winget command, restarted, and they are back. Thanks to everyone who helped out. If it wasn't for all of you, I wouldn't have known to look for winget.

No idea. I didn't even know there was such a thing, so I didn't turn it off. I mentioned that I did a restore a while back. All I can think of is that it turned itself off during the restore, but I have no idea why.
