OS
Windows 11 Home
My wife and I are starting a new business and we will probably need new laptops since mine is 5 years old and hers is a low powered 6 year old system. We are looking at A16 zenbooks with the arm processors in them. I have our windows systems setup with all silliness shut down like recommendations, ads, etc. So the OS stays out of the way. I have co pilot turned off in everything. We do use Co pilot app but that's it, We don't want it in every piece of software we use. Can I do this on the new systems with ARM as well?

thanks for the information.

Steve

I am asking if W11 on arm is more heavy handed with the intrusive pop ups, "ads for services" and co-pilot than our current x86 systems? Or can we turn everything off like I have done now. My system now does not ask me anything from Microsoft. It just works and gets out of the way. No do you want this try that, let copilot answer this for you etc.

If you want, you can turn off AI integration and debloat Windows 11.

Boot into Windows 11 on your machine and fire up an elevated PowerShell window.
Search for ‘PowerShell’ on the start menu, and click on the ‘Run as Administrator’ option from the right hand side of the UI.
Paste in the command into the PowerShell window and hit the Enter key.

Powershell:
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm “https://raw.githubusercontent.com/zoicware/RemoveWindowsAI/main/RemoveWindowsAi.ps1”)))

Choose your options and you should be done!

Type this command to revert the changes (if applicable) and press Enter:

Powershell:
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/zoicware/RemoveWindowsAI/main/RemoveWindowsAi.ps1"))) -nonInteractive -revertMode -AllOptions

Remove Windows Ai GitHub.

Download Windows Ai batch script.

Debloat Windows 11.

Open the FlyOOBE download page.

Click the download option for the latest version available.

You are very welcome and Windows 11 don't have x86 version.

Arm devices DO support windows - but you need to select carefully the hardware.

I'd suggest also if running a business go for enterprise or even IOT enterprise. It depends on the complexity of course on your business, how much traffic you expect, how much complete e-commerce and internet billing you need to do -- which is a totally other problem. The main advantage of the IOT model is that it's an LTSC type of OS which means fewer updates etc and is designed for long term stability rather than "leading edge" software support and in theory only "approved" 3rd party applications can be installed. Business accounting software commonly used such as quickbooks should be OK though.

Cheers

Hi Jimbo,

We are opening a Property Inspection and Managment business serving Central and Western Newfoundland. Not going to be much E-commerce really. Just doing reports, advertising, spreadsheets etc. I do photo/video/creative work as well. We are starting our new PodCast/Tube channel when we get in the new home and all settled in. I can do that on my current system so I expect no slow downs on the new X elite 2 extreme processor.

Whether Photoshop works on Arm processors I don't know.

Another suggestion is to get a "MiniPC" and have it as a dedicated PC for your business. These usually come with Windows already installed (Windows PRO) and 1GB internal Nvme type hdd, plus 16GB of RAM , plus both wifi and LAN and some USBC / USB 3 ports connector for as low as $ or € 300. You'll need a monitor - but for your business type application it should be brilliant.

Cheers

Got a workstation as well. ha ha. Dell XPS 8940. i7 10700, 2070 super, 128gb of ram 2tb ssd for prorams and OS, 8tb hdd for project storage and 2 1tb SSD for scratch and project drives for various creative software packages. I do not use Adobe at all, I use other software that all has arm support so I am safe there as well.
