Solved Windows 11 24H2 has un-bypassable hardware requirements...


I mean... I tried updating to 24H2 on my 775 build but... After a reboot ofc it just rebooted, there's some File that's preventing. Hmm I tried several things by replacing some files from 23H2 to the 24H2 ISO hence repatch the ISO but nope. As someone mentioned let us know what you find

we don't have plenty of time to use our “old” pc's . practically neither for that and for anything else . A year goes by in no time . and soon we will run out of security support , using this pc`s , ok we will be able to use them but with risks , because that is what Microsoft has decided , only for their economic interests , which is the only thing they care about of course .

They want us to spend more , that according to them we spend little... and who can not spend ... they don't care

MS is pretty serious about the SSE 4.2 instruction set.

OK I'm going to try one last thing but I need help. What files should I replace in a windows go? I'm going to with one of my SSD with a USB to SATA cable. Like I'll transfer whatever I need from 23H2 to 24H2

I suspect not. The PopCount instruction is, apparently, extremely useful for the sorts of calculations required for AI. Hence the uprated hardware requirements for SSE4.2 with its PopCount instruction going forwards.

And now for something completely different: binary convolutional neuralnetworks!....
....In summary, we have to do binary matrix multiplication....
....Where does popcount come into play? It’s used to calculate the dot product of two binary matrices....

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.
Yeah, Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 and 11 23H2. So what? Much like we use XP and 7 today with third-party antivirus and Common Sense, we will keep using these versions until the hardware dies or until WE decide to replace them. Not Microsoft.

There is Rust code in the kernel, specifically around GDI, but Windows 11 is not entirely written in Rust.

My first PC, Intel 8088 10MHz CPU, 640KB RAM, 256KB VGA, 5.25" and 3.5" floppy disk drives had a huge 40MB hard disk drive. It was that large that I had split it in two FAT partitions, one for MS-DOS and one for data!

I don’t understand why you guys want to install Windows 11 on early Vista era hardware. Tech advances and you simply move on. Even if you manage to do some voodoo tricks and get a successful install, it simply won’t perform well.

Do you also complain when you can’t install iOS 18 on iPhone 6?

I have an old Pentium 4 HT 3.0 GHz computer with 2GB of RAM that still runs Windows 7 Ultimate (System 3), but I hardly ever use it. Speaking of Windows 11, after support for Windows 11 23H2 ends, I plan to keep using it on my Core 2 Quad 9550 (System 1) protected by Avast Premium. I also want to build a gaming rig, especially for 24H2, within the next year because I don't want to fall behind in technology!!! Anyway, I'm not worried about it at the moment!!!

I plan sometime to give my test laptop (1st system specs, no SSE4.2) to my little son to play light games, such as those played on a browser. I don't mind running Windows 11 23H2, but IF I could make it run 24H2 it would be for proof of concept. It would hardly make it more secure without UEFI, without Secure Boot and TMP. Or I could clean install Windows 7 32-bit on my old Intel Pentium 4 system and give him that.
