Windows 11 is awful

Same. Win 11 works.

But it's not intuitive or efficient. It IS intuitive and efficient for the corporate world.
The simplest example would be the old Control Panel vs. the MS Settings.

One is intuitive and efficient, the other isn't. One size fits all doesn't work for operating systems.
It doesn't work for clothing, either.

I'm also seriously tired of MS deciding how my desktop and File Explorer should look.
There's NO need for that. I don't want a communist computer.

An OS should be a program to run MY programs.
It shouldn't be a program to run programs MS likes or thinks are necessary.

Everything on an OS should be able to be "easily" set to the "users" preferences.
Everything should be optional.

The only group Win 11 services, is MS's Tech Advisors.
If all computers are identical, then they have an easy job ahead of them.

I've said it a number of times. An OS should be basic, and have plugins for those that need more.
It's not that I can't figure it out, it's that I don't want to have to figure it out.

An OS's functions should be completely apparent... intuitive. Win 11's... aren't.

In the Summer/Fall of 2021 I upgraded my main desktop's hardware so that it was fully compatible with Windows 11. After Windows 11 was released I upgraded it from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I knew I only had 10 days to try it out before it wouldn't be easy to change my mind. On day 10 I rolled back to Windows 10. In the Summer of 2022 I bought a new laptop to replace my old one with Windows 10. Since the new one came with Windows 11 I was determined to learn Windows 11. I eventually got used to it. I still preferred Windows 10's interface but accepted that Windows 11 was the way forward. At the end of 2023 I decided that it was time to upgrade my desktop again to Windows 11. This time there was no going back. I have 5 desktop and 3 laptop computers. They have a mix of the following:
Windows XP = 2 | Windows 7/10 = 2 | Windows 10 = 2 | Windows 11 = 2

As you can see I am familiar with a number of versions of Windows. When my Windows 10 computers no longer receive updates I will decide whether any of them will be upgraded to Windows 11. I will only decide then. Even then there won't be any hurry to do so.

I agree that Windows 11's interface is way too complicated. I wish it was more like Windows 10. However, I am not going to fight the change and just learn to get along with it. Now my two main computers have Windows 11. I am using my other ones less and less. I expect I will eventually retire all my non-Windows 11 computers. However, I may keep the Windows 10 around a bit longer since I like Windows 10 so much.

I don't understand why anyone, including myself, keep computers around with Windows XP or 7. Maybe it is just nostalgia. I suspect that is all it is because they are clearly inferior to Windows 10 in every way.

Oddly I have no issues with Windows 11 on 4 PCs. Maybe the OP needs to buy Windows 11 for Dummies?

Like Gary, I'm also on my laptop 10-12 hours a day with Windows 11, no issues at all. I'm using Start11 to change my Start menu (when I use it) & use Quick Access Popup instead, to give me a customized menu system. I've kept it current with all the updates. My flight sims (FS2004 &P3D) also run smoother than they did in Windows 10.

I'm using an Asus Ryzen 7 Windows 11 laptop, 500GB SSD, with a 2TB portable drive always plugged in & running my sims off that.

Windows 12 is probably fake news, as there has been no proof of it at all, and Windows 11 is still to get it's major 24H2 update.

Try MS Flight Simulator 2020 or the forthcoming 2024 version and you will be amazed. You will need to install it on a SSD for a good loading speed.

Way to go - first post and it is basically a trolling post which breaks the 1st Forum rule.

Actually, why would Windows 11 be bad, I've already made the switch to Linux Mint a few times, well that's not all it's cracked up to be either! All the software I was used to I had to completely ''wean myself off'' and yes. That hurts. If you used Wine for Windows software, well really, 9 out of 10 programs just didn't work or did with very weird bugs. So yeah, hop back to the good-old Windows 11. (via Windows 10, can assure you it's the right method via Rufus.) It may be a detour but it works! Long live RUFUS! So yes, still decided to stay on Windows 11 until the end of time and may hell freeze over!

Wait until Microsoft gets around to making Windows like Google OS and everyone will wish Eleven back.

I'm bored. Nothing breaks, everything works, maybe I should switch to Linux ?

If you read these forums long enough you will realise that 90% of problems are self inflicted! Do a clean install and try Windows 11 for a week ot two without messing with the settings.
