Windows 11 issue?

Have you examined the event logs to see if there is any notation regarding the reboot(s)?

That sounds more like a hardware problem, than a Windows problem.
Check all electrical connections.

My own PC died on me two days ago. After some extensive troubleshooting, the problem turned out to be a failing CMOS battery.
I thought of that last, because that battery was less than a year old. I'll check that first, next time.

My computer randomly restarts for no apparent reason.

Also, my screen occasionally flickers on and off.

I don't know why but the flickering stops when I run a defender virus scan?

These things never happened with windows 10.

Are these windows 11 problems?
Updated graphics driver a half hour ago and screen just flickered on/off again. So, neither problem has been resolved.

Any other ideas?

I have the same problem. The video driver is the same as I used on Windows 8.1, but it never restarted.
Graphics driver updated and this did not resolve the screen flickering on/off.

I don't know what to do.

Also, my screen occasionally flickers on and off.
I often experience video driver crashes with me being thrown to the logon screen and video acceleration stopping (exclamation mark in device manager). Never happened under Win 8.1 with the same drivers (tried several).

Check the controller that your operating system drive is plugged into and ensure that the driver is up to date.

Also. Regarding the flickering. Has anyone mentioned the obvious of checking your monitor cables? Unplug them, then plug them back in a couple of times. I know you said that it didn't happen with Windows 10, but coincidences happen.

"Host process for Windows Services", should never stop working.
svchost.exe is one of the main Windows programs. It pretty much runs everything.
The Event Viewer can be found by right clicking the Start button and choosing: Event Viewer.

IF you decide it's a Windows problem, you might want to try an In-Place upgrade.
This will fix most all Windows problems.

Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

DISABLE non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect (free)
Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free

Go here and get the Windows 11 ISO (use the 3rd option), and save the ISO to your desktop.
Download Windows 11

000000 Win 11 ISO.png

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will look like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations. Your programs and data will be intact.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
Look to see if you have windows update set to auto restart. Settings-Windows Update-advanced options- try turning off "get me up to date" and turn on 'notify me when a restart is required".

Using the event log is not exactly easy due to the sheer amount of stuff there. Take a look HERE for some info on how to use the event viewer. Because there is so much info there, the next time it restarts you will have an exact time stamp to use when using event viewer.

I don't know what to do.
There might come a time when the only thing left to do is to go back to Windows 10 to see if the problem still follows you. If you had no other recourse, would going back be an easy switch between OS's for you or would you have to roll back or restore an image or something else.
Hopefully, it doesn't come to that.

I tried rolling back to 10 the issue now exists in 10 when it didn't before so I just went back with 11 hoping Microsoft solves the issues with an update. Fingers crossed.

Was the first thing I did, and it is pretty much brand-new HDMI cable.

I didn't find any identifiable issue with these connections.

What type of storage controller is that motherboard using? Acer specs are a bit hard to find.
Go to Device Manager > Click on the little arrow beside Disk Drives. Select your main operating system drive.
Go to the View menu and select Devices by Connection. It will show you what controller it is connected to.

Then have a look at the driver date and version.
