From the Windows Central articles (last sentence):

... his (ie. new MS management) vision going into 2024 seems to be dead set on AI, services, web technology, and subscriptions

That last word - subscriptions. I was unable to find any other reference to this anywhere else in the articles. So is this to be a surprise Moment ?

There is also an interesting article in Github about the mooted timing of enforced revocations. The article is seemingly quite well informed on the technical level (I have not the expertise to challenge it) and suggests that enforcement is timed for mid-year 2024.

there should be serious efforts to reduce the window size. photo app should display and edit photos not play videos, and if it plays videos then it should buy video playing capabilities from Windows Media player.

People have been able to just, not update...

The part that is constantly in the back of my mind, are the secureboot updates MS is pushing. Will there be a day where another set of secureboot updates makes in impossible for us to stay on an older OS in the name of "security"..

Thats the real worry moving forward

Of course MS would be able to “know” where you are located by your IP address (not withstanding a travelling laptop or using a VPN) but would they do this is what I ask myself.

eg…I installed an app recently when it asked if I were located in the EEA. I said yes, despite being in the UK, and it installed without any issues.

It just might be that easy to overcome.
