Windows 11 Moment 4 update.

Last month I was under the impression I installed the Windows 11 Moment 4 update. My OS build is 22621.2428. However I do not have any of the new features that I read about that came in with Moment 4. Further research leads me to believe that the Windows Configuration Update (KB5030509) is what is needed. My Windows update history does not show that KB5030509 is installed. If this update is needed to activate the new features how do I go about getting it installed? Please note I am located in the USA so there should be no location restrictions on the update for me.

I read lots of posts where other folks are in the same position as me. I tried some of the recommendations to get the update but so far no good. Help in this matter will be appreciated.

KB5030509 is not installed on my machines and I do have Moment 4 installed (I see CoPilot for instance) so I do not think this is needed to get Moment 4.
I think it is a post code lottery as to when your machines will receive it. Other than that, I can't help.

I have three fully supported devices, all on 22621.2428. Of these, two have the moment 4 features and one doesn't.

Looks like MS are doing a gradual rollout for enabling moment 4 features.

If not already enabled, make sure to turn on the option "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available". After enabling this, click on "Check for updates" and see if it wants to reboot to enable those features.

You should also open the Windows Store app and check for updates there as some of the features require updated versions of things such as Notepad, etc.

Bear in mind that SOME features may still not be enabled yet.

My Windows Update screen is configured the way you show it. I do notice that the apps Paint and Photos have the new features as described at Windows 11 ‘Moment 4’ update released, here are the many new features. Does this mean I have part of Moment 4 at least?

I don't have Copilot or the 'Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels' setting.

Just to be clear, did you manually click on "Check for updates" AFTER that option was enabled. My understanding is that you need to be a seeker (you have to manually click that button) to get the features. Others, correct me if I am wrong. It also seems to me that this is when KB5030509 gets installed.

I've tried about a dozen machines so far and have the features on every single machine, even machines well over a decade old that technically are unsupported by Windows 11.

I did "Check for updates" multiple times without getting KB5030509. I do get other updates when I do this such as Defender virus lists.

I can't be certain what the issue is then. It's possible that Windows deems something about your system to be incompatible with some specific update. Microsoft will sometimes put blocking holds on certain updates until known issues are addressed. Of course, that is only speculation on my part.

Copilot apparently requires being logged in with a MS account, meaning, not using a local account.

I don't log on with a Microsoft account. I use a Hybrid account as Kari instructs in the below tutorial. Copilot works just fine in that scenario.

Be aware KB5030509 is NOT going to be shown under Quality Updates, but rather Other Updates...

So, check there to see if you have it or not.

Ditto. I have copilot with my local account, it is only necessary that your MS account can be used by other apps.

I have an MS account. I just did an in place Windows 11 update hoping that I would get KB5030509. Didn't happen. Is there a link for KB5030509 where I can download it and install it manually? If not, perhaps the next update will include it.

There's a good chance that the next update we'll see offered is the 23H2 feature update. That should do it....

From what I read is locales in North America would get the update right away. The rollout was for some other countries.
