They came early. $12,000 to fix it. One of the breaks seems to be under a patio concrete slab, and 5 meters of crushed pipe on the other side of the property under a crap load of bamboo.

I’m not happy.

I distinctly remember telling my wife I thought that bamboo (Tiger grass) was a bad Idea. Regardless, it is what it is.

Hasleo is free if you want to try it. I made a short tutorial for a first time user. It at least covers the first backup steps.

Yes bamboo is very destructive and invasive! Glad you’re able to split the cost of that expensive repair 🤨

But you did say, if the clean install of Windows 11 fails, you can put Windows 10 back on? So all is not lost.

You can use that USB Media that you made with RUFUS to clean install Windows 11

The backup is purly if you run into issues and you want to revert back to the state the Laptop is in now. Macrium isn’t going to help install Windows 11

As far as I know, you simply run the bat file from within Windows then in-place upgrade with the RUFUS media.
I believe they basically do the same thing but nothing else has worked to date.

Take the Upgrade_Helper.bat file from the zip file and add it to your desktop
Right click on Upgrade_Helper.bat and run as admin

Then try the In-Place Upgrade again?

Thanks happy to try that before I clean install. What was the other method you mentioned when you knew that the in-place upgrade hadn’t worked?

Did I have another suggestion?

My honest opinion is, and the steps I would take are;

  • If an in-place upgrade using RUFUS didn’t work
  • A clean install doesn’t work
Something is wrong that I have never had experience with.
