I think it is worthwhile numbering versions when they have different system requirements [which should always have to be declared].
So Windows 10 Version 1803 could have been Windows 10.1 and MS would have had to admit that they changed the system requirements at that stage [which they did not acknowledge].
Windows 11 could have been Windows 10.2 and would have been accompanied by the new system requirements that they published for Windows 11.

The scope for misleading people could be reduced by open declarations of system requirements. But it would never be perfect.
Even now, some people have reported seeing "compatible with Windows 11" descriptions on computers that do not, upon investigation, meet the system requirements. Their sellers ought to describe such computers as, "you can put Windows 11 on it".

I'm taking good care of my current computers [Windows 10] in the hope that they will last until 2027 so I can replace them with computers running the newly-released Windows 12.

MS's codes of conduct preclude their staff from getting ideas from outside of areas declared in their privacy & intellectual property statements.
That's how they ensure that they cannot be sued by an outsider who claims to have been the source of some wonderful new idea that gets incorporated into Windows such as ... ... ... I can't think of of any wonderful new ideas since July 2009.
Their codes of conduct were made public a few years ago in an effort to reduce the torrent of unsolicited suggestions they were getting. They explained that unsolicited ideas were sent straight to the dustbin without any technical staff being able to see them.

Just curious...

Does anyone here actually know that there is a Win12 in early stage development, much less a 13?

If memory serves me correctly, there was never a Win9. Could that be a case for skipping 12 and calling the next iteration 13?

Did you really mean to say to keep your W10 machines until 2027?
(W10 OS EOL is 2025}

Windows 365 is actually used by MS to denote the cloud PC.

I wasn't talking about ideas, Denis. I agree with you on that, but choosing someone to work on a project is quite different.

If I were looking for an employee/tester, I'd look here on ElevenForum first. . . There are a few folks close enough to my area I would consider. Not that I even have a company!
