Solved Windows Sleep Mode Crashes computer?

I've had this crash problem on my other machines: win 10 & 7. I ended up keeping the sleep mode off completely back then. With my new HP machine after a rough start, sleep mode worked for many weeks until I updated to 22H2 it seems. The last several crashes when waking up never give dump reports.

Question: Does sleep mode usually cause problems?

Only if a device uses S0 modern standby. I've not seen pure S3 sleep cause issues in 22h2.
Open command prompt as admin and type powercfg -a
Post a screenshot of results.

After you have posted the PowerCfg -a results, I suggest you get a copy of the display driver from your computer / display card maker & reinstall it even if it is the same version as the one you have already [reinstall not merely check for updates].

Display driver problems have long been recognised as a common cause of sleep problems but there is no diagnostic test that can replace just reinstalling to see if it helps or not.

Thank you for this good idea.
Unfortunately, my monitor's company support site offers no drivers.

Monitor: Sceptre IPS 27" QHD (E275B-QPT168)

I suppose I could delete the current driver and reboot to force a reinstall.

I believe when @Try3 refers to display driver he is not referring to your monitor driver but your graphics driver found in device manager >display adapter. The RTX3070 is an Nvidia graphics card. The i7-12700K also has integrated Intel® UHD Graphics 770.
You still have not posted a screenshot of your power configuration.

As glasskuter says, the relevant driver is for the graphics card shown in Device manager, Display adapters.

Sorry for the slow responses on my part. I went over to windows 10 forums after getting no bites here on my other thread. They got me running the driver verifier to force BSOD. It worked in culling out an old logitech driver but other driver errors showed up after more custom testing.

I just need someone to "read" the V2 logs I created for my recent crash. I tried "reading" the Windbg program of the dump file with no success (No "image name" for example). I tried 11 Forums but the one respondent I received

I hope you have gone to the HP support site, downloaded a copy of the latest graphics driver & installed it.

It is very rare for a PC to use S0 sleep as it's mostly used in laptops and tablets but it seems yours does and its a real travesty. I feel for you. Other than looking into your graphics driver as has been suggested, see if HP has released a new bios update. If no joy there, your device should be under warranty. Demand that HP deal with your problem.

Ancient History:
I remember the young person posting, "my PC went to sleep and ate my homework!".
It seems like a PC could go to sleep, as programmed, and just never wake up, till a power OFF reset was performed.
Of course if you were writing your Dissertation, it was GONE!
Complaints like the above were all over the boards at the time.
So I've always just made it a point to set my sleep time to "NEVER". Safe....not sorry.

Yup, that's what I did with all my other computers. It's 2022 and we still have subpar functionality.
(In this case, it worked for weeks until it did not).

How do I know if it crashes while asleep vs. when I hit the power button to restart while it sleeps/won't wake up?
Happened twice and the dump file shows:
IMAGE_NAME: dxgkrnl.sys

I think I fixed the sleep problem: I turned OFF "Allow the computer to turn off this device..." under Power Management tab for all my USB controllers found in Device Manager. This was suggested by others for the OMEN 30 (smaller version of my 40L). It has been working well for over 48 hours and wakes up quickly (unlike before).
