I did 3, 4, and 5. The whole DISM driver injection thing looked pretty complicated!

OK, so I tried to do the steps in @Kari post #26, and I do all the steps OK. Where are the final ISO files stored? Not sure.

Step 6.2 in the second tutorial I linked to earlier, and link again here below, contains a link to another tutorial, which in its turn shows how to create a bew ISO image using your updated WIM file.

So, reading 6.2 again, I ran the setup.exe in the ISO_Files folder and got the same error. I did the other steps as well, e.g. disconnecting from internet, AV off, etc.

Does the above seem like the correct thing to do?
Also, does anyone know how I can get rid of the 'drive' created in all this that I mentioned above in post #32. Still there, and still can't get rid of it.

I had very similar problem with any kind of upgrade install as the OP in the thread.
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver (Sata/AHCI driver) was the problem for me.
With it installed Windows Update would not complete an install of the new build.
And trying to install it on a clean install of Windows 11 renders it unbootable upon reboot.

Interesting, so how did you resolve that issue?
I'm booting from a nvME drive and I don't think that uses the Intel SATA/AHCI drivers. Nevertheless, I reverted to an older Intel SATA driver and tried again. Same story.

I became curious and replaced the standard sata ahci controller with intel rapid storage driver technology drivers. The computer tried to restart but failed. The starter kept spinning and nothing more happened. Thank you for the solution "Wannagofast".

Are you saying removing the Intel SATA drivers completely fixed it for you?

I have a HP Z400 Workstation and I have the same exact problems. Can't update too or Clean install Build 22449.100 from Windows 10 or Windows 11 22000.176. Stalls with the solid half circle going round and round, happens right after the reboot and with a clean install, right after the first reboot. I have updated and Clean installed 22449.100 on my ASUS Laptop R541U and my Ancient ASUS Laptop K52Jt and 2 of My HP Elite 8200.

Right off the top your processor isn't on the supported list.

And with this update beta/dev MS has cracked down on who can use the insider versions of 11. Try running this and post the results.,
