Solved All of a sudden no sound.

Hey all, So i was playing away on uncharted, Decided to finish up and go to youtube. Closed the game, Got to youtube, All of a sudden no sound will play at all. Windows sounds work, But nothing else from nowhere, Re-installed all drivers etc. Any ideas? Kinda killing me not having ANY audio at all.

EDIT: I've managed to get my base sound working in 2.1 via the generic microsoft driver, Realtek driver gets me absolutely nothing

Sorted, uninstalled and re-install realtek drivers 858395 times 28 different ways, Same with boom 3d audio drivers and microsofts own drivers, All in all..I could never be a sound engineer lol.

From my experience, some non-Realtek soundcards accept Realtek drivers, but because they are not fully compatible, there is no sound. The same happens for Realtek sound cards that incompatible Realtek drivers are installed. To make sure which model you actually have, you must go to Device Manager, Sound and video adapters, right-click on the card, select Properties and find the device IDs. Google them to see what it is. I would not bother, just uninstall the Realtek driver, restart and Windows should automatically find the proper drivers.

TIP: Visit motherboard manufacturer's site to see which drivers he has available. If it is an OEM computer (HP, Dell etc) visit manufacturer's site.

Im sorted now, All supported fine, Worked for years and then all of a sudden this issue, The native microsoft drivers provided terrible sound quality and also didn't provide 5.1 surround either, Thankfully wouldn't buy an OEM pc so were good there. I try and avoid windows finding certain drivers for me as it usually causes a pain in the ass! But were sorted now anyway but thanks for the help :)
