amazon basic speakers stopped working

I have a lenovo desktop. My AB speakers worked, then stopped. I tried all the obvious fixes. Help.

Return them and get them replaced.

Make sure the speakers are set as default device
settings>system>sound

On that same page select volume mixer. Make sure volume is turned up and that the speakers aren't muted. (if muted you will see a tiny X atop the tiny speaker icon,

Open your browser and open a video with sound. under volume mixer your browser should be listed. Make sure it's sound icon does not show muted.
