Any changes to taskbar alignment?

I am one of those minorities who like the taskbar on the left side because it wastes less space on my screen. Has there been any sign of that option being added, rather like the classic screens which were added to W8?

Not that I'm aware of.

Not as yet, check out any 3rd party programs, there are a few of them starting to emerge

Then put it at the bottom & hide when not in use !! That's what i do.

Yes, you can change the taskbar alignment to be aligned to the left instead of center like in the tutorial below.

He may have.

The title has "alignment" in it, but the first post mentions taskbar on the left side.

You can put the taskbar vertically by editing the UndockingDisabled registry key and then dragging it to the side.
But I recommend Explorer Patcher which does the same but better.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I just started a memory diagnostic on the other pc, and it is slower than expected.
I would like to keep the taskbar visible on normal desktop, but running vertically to save wasting space on the monitor screen. I haven't yet tried the W11 "hide taskbar" option.

The Taskbar is being separated from Windows Explorer as a separate process with enhanced features, so that takes time. I hope that MS will then restore the sideway positioning option of the Taskbar, just by dragging it and snap!

I don't think will happen, it's their baby, but you never know as info is released about Sun Valley 2 the first Windows 11 feature update but it's all very sketchy and vague

I have setup the vanishing taskbar, and no doubt, with time, I will get used to it.

I don't mind the centered Taskbar, got acquainted with it on Macintosh OS X a number of years ago. I find it interesting that Windows now has it as well as one of the three PCLinuxOS desktop versions has it. Also interesting that after Win10 Macintosh has dropped OS X in favor of macOS, must be something about the X and 10.

I'll probably get myself in hot water for saying this. When did MS ever have an original idea?

That's what I thought when I read the post. Maybe because I like my taskbar on top; Skype covers up the taskbar when it's on the bottom and my students can't see what I'm clicking on when I share my screen.

And I very much dislike the Windows 11 user interface.

I want my taskbar on top and to the left, so there, Microsoft! Take that and stuff it in yer pipe!

Other than Windows 8/8.1 I think Windows 11 is the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

Does it stop me from using Windows 11 . . . well, nope. Because I have to learn it so I can teach it to my students. They're the ones who will pitch a fit when they see what's happened to Winders!
