BSOD when gaming

No BSOD on reboot. Here's the /querysettings
Adding [ ] 0x00000004 Randomized low resources simulation. to the settings will update with a screenshot and then again in 6 hours.

See instructions in the prior post about the customized tests.

Randomized was not supposed to be added next.

My bad I misread.

I got a BSOD when adjusting verifier settings. nvlddmkm.sys was listed. It wont let me upload a V2 log file because it's too big now.

Uninstall the GPU drivers nvlddmkm.sys using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)

Reinstall using the Nvidia website.

Make sure that the clean install box is checked and if available install the physx driver.





Restart WDV with all customized settings except:
[ ] 0x00000004 Randomized low resources simulation.

Alrighty. I booted into safe mode and ran DDU. Rebooted then installed the latest graphics driver from Nvidia with a clean install checked. Updated WDV settings and rebooted. I will try my game again and see what happens. Be back with an update shortly.

I'm still getting a BSOD

Restart WDV using all customized tests.

The latest BSOD was bugcheck 3B and was caused by Nvidia GPU drivers nvlddmkm.sys.

The driver version was 30.0.15.1295.


Turn off Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers:




Using DDU uninstall the current driver > find older drivers on the Nvidia website

Test various driver versions.

If there are continued BSOD with various driver versions then swap test the GPU card.

Either Nvidia or AMD can be used.

If possible, for each swap test, perform two tests:
a) test a new card in the problematic computer
b) test the card from the problematic computer in another computer

(If only a) can be done that will be sufficient)


Look at the PCI-e ports and determine whether there is or is not another port to try for the GPU card.

I tried Nvidia Driver 30.0.14.7212 and got BSOD per usual. I don't have another GPU to swap with. I'll try another slot on my MB first then maybe another driver.

I'm trying older drivers because my entire system is less than 2 years old. Everything worked perfectly up until about a month or so ago when the BSOD started

The latest V2 reported WDV off.

Please make sure that it has been restarted.



The latest BSOD were with:
Driver Version 30.0.14.7212


The prior BSOD were with:
Driver Version 30.0.15.1295



Please try a third version.

If there is another BSOD caused by Nvidia GPU drivers nvlddmkm.sys then that will complete the driver testing.

The hardware needs to be swap tested to determine whether there is a malfunctioning GPU card.

The quickest way to eliminate it being your graphics card/driver, uninstall it and see what happens using the integrated Intel® UHD Graphics 630.
