How can I navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RestartManager\Session0000\? Every time I paste it in registry editor it doesn't go to the location.

What file are you referring to? Some registry patches, or program options, etc., for example, will "create" the registry entries that are necessary.
That's what I meant when I asked what you are trying to accomplish.

We may know other ways to accomplish whatever it is that you're trying to do.

Oh alright, it was just a normal installer. Scanned on VirusTotal. lol 1722449117918.png

It set these registry keys. Guess it just bypassed these keys since it doesn't exist on my machine.

You can just create those keys on the left side in the registry.
Create RestartManager first, then under that, create Session0000

Well there seems to be a permissions problem, with creating those keys. :/


I can't really suggest anything else, without knowing what you're installing. :-)


A lot of the time, we can Google for the answer. We have some pretty good Googlers on here.
But we need to know "what" to Google of course. :-)

If the key does not exist, how are you going to navigate to that key.

This reg key is created as needed. If it doesn't exist, then Restart Manager has nothing it needs to track across reboots.

Your app might be referencing an outdated reg entry. Some program installers or Windows Updates may have to replace a critical file currently loaded in memory. The only way to update this file is shutdown Windows (killing all processes) and swapping out the files on reboot. Installers can register they want Restart Manager to keep track of specific files. After reboot, these entries will be cleared out as Restart Manager has finished its task.

If you see a message, your installer probably had an error.
