All these Nay sayers against A.I are reall;y equivalent to King Canute's alleged refutation on "The divine right of Kings" in early Anglo saxon history by commanding the tide to stop (mind you if he'd have had a copy of the maritime tide tables for that year he could have got away with it !!!). Look at early "Machine Chess" challengers -- now they can outsmart world champions at times.

Good A.I is not necessarily pure logic -- often Humans solve problems by using certain elements of pattern recognition which is acquired by experience. It's impossible (assuming not using a quantum computer) to view every possibility in a chain of events ahead).

Current A.I is probably at the state of a 6 month old baby -- wait even 5 years and see the difference (assuming N.Korea/Iran/Russia hasn't blown the planet up by then).
