I'm still dual booting Win 10 pro + Win 10 pro both fully updated and considering going to Win 11 soon. Currently all of my drives are GPT. I'm doing UEFI secure boot and the firmware TPM 2.0 is enabled. My processor is Intel i7-11700K and the mainboard is MSI MPG-Z590M GAMING EDGE WIFI

When I dual boot win 11 does the TPM sort out what keys and info belong to each system? I assume brighter minds than mine are well ahead of me but I'm trying to be cautious.
thanks
Bob

What you can do with Windows 10 same things applies to Windows 11.

However, as far as I know, the TPM is not useful in Win 10 but will be required in Win 11. I'm asking if anyone has done what I'm thinking of doing.

Windows 7 and Windows 10 both have extensive support for TPMs. Windows 11 will only run on PCs that have TPM capabilities.

Yeah. Windows 10 can do the same things with TPM as Win11 can. Win11 just makes having it mandatory.

Windows 10 has the exact same TPM support as Windows 11 does. The only difference is that the Windows 11 setup routine makes TPM mandatory (not Windows 11 itself, so far only the setup routine). That's why it is a myth that Windows 11 is more secure than Windows 10. It's only the default settings themselves in Windows 11 that are more secure, but Windows 10 offers the same security features, it's just that some of them are not enabled by default in Windows 10, but they are available.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to wait until I actually dual boot Win 11 + Win 11 to find out the answer.

I'm dual booting Windows 10 and Windows 11.

If I have a discrete video card in my computer, I will have to enable it in Windows 10. I will also have to enable it in Windows 11. My SSD drive is partitioned for Windows 10 & 11. When I boot to Windows 10, the computer knows which partition to use. When I boot to Windows 11, the computer knows which partition to use.

I have to install software to each "computer". IOW, Microsoft 365 has to be installed to each partition (Windows 10 and Windows 11). Any changes to the BIOS must be made for both. I could NOT have Secure Boot turned off in Windows 10, but turned on in Windows 11.

Hopefully, this is what you're looking for.

Since secure boot is a function in BIOS, how can it be turned off in Windows 10, but turned on in Windows 11, unless you go into BIOS and change the setting before booting?

I'm dual booting regular W10 and clean install of insider, developer W11 on separate disks and have no problems. W11 was installed after W10. It (W11) even recognized W10 on another disk and made a BOOT menu to choose from. Only thing that's "off" is that after install and every update it places W11 at top of list and as default.

Yeah, I thought of that after I posted. And forgot to go in and change it.

There! I fixed it.
