There really isn't any need for @Alexey2912 to move the OS. The new drive may be faster but there won't be any noticeable performance difference.
There are loads of videos on YouTube that show there isn't any and to worry about it is not time or cost efficient.
The only thing @Alexey2912 needs to do is move the original SSD to the other slot and move the screw stud so the new SSD can be installed. Unless the laptop has the extra screw for the new SSD, they would have to find one. The screw is very small and probable hard to find. Even though I don't think the Tech knows a lot about computers I think they would know enough to be able to install the new SSD and have the correct screw if needed.
If he just wants more storage.. and external drive might be his best option
And way less hassle
If he wanted a more storage that external drive doesn't support, it may be possible to get a NAS.
I would think a NAS is the last thing he needs.

Most people don't need anything that's close to that capacity. A decent 2TB HDD is sufficient

I got my girlfriend an Acer a while back and she loves it. If I had some more money at that time I would have gotten her an Asus
I got my wife an Acer Chromebook for ‘on the go’ simplicity. I think I destroyed that at the weekend though
Good to hear.. I never touch her laptop and it works just fine. I just wish I had the same repair guy around so he could upgrade it so it has an SSD and more RAM.
