Firefox v142.0
Using Firefox I tried 3 times to download an app update file but it failed each time. By 'failed' I mean it tried to download the file but the downloaded file was zero bytes and would not launch. I had to use Vivaldi browser to download the file and it worked. A Firefox 'Download' problem?
Although the app update failed to download using FF the app download still shows in FF 'Downloads' list and a Download popup appears at every launch of Firefox.
This happens even though I have clicked on 'Clear Downloads' and it disappears from the screen but it reappears at next FF launch session. I have also tried 'Delete' downloads as well but same result.
I have cleared Browsing and Download history' but it still happens.
Is anyone else seeing this behaviour? Is there a workaround/fix?

Thanks but these settings didn't work either. The popup happens every time I launch FF.
It's not a major problem. It's Just annoying. A single click anywhere on FF windows makes it disappear.
There is no prompt for me to 'Allow download'.
I tried downloading the same file again twice. Once from github and then direct from the developer's website. Both times the download was zero bytes?
As an experiment I downloaded @abactuon DriverStoreExplorer zip file and that downloaded correctly at 1MB so it seems that the Glow zip file is faulty.
Seems that Downloading in general is okay. It is the Downloads library that is retaining the download history and the Downloads popup still happens every time FF launches.
Edit: -
After I downloaded the valid DriverStoreExplorer zip file I then 'Cleared' the download library list, closed FF and relaunched it and hey presto it worked. The Downloads library list remains empty and the popup no longer happens when FF launches.
I think that the 'Clear Downloads' function can't work if the downloaded files are all zero bytes. There is nothing for it to delete so it can't delete 'nothing'. Having 1 file in there that has a file size above 0 bytes allows it to work and clears the library correctly.
Do you not see the small blue circle with the exclamation in it? That is a warning. Click that and you will see more info. It's clearly in the original images you attached.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
Yes, I did see it but clicking it told me nothing.
Also, I don't know why FF could not download the Glow zip file correctly when it downloaded fine using Vivaldi. This tells me that the source Glow zip file must be okay but FF could not download it correctly. Why?
Maybe there is a downloading bug in FF but if there is then it is a random thing because FF downloaded the DriverStoreExplorer zip file okay.
It is part of Firefox security which you can override by allowing the download.
Click on the download in the firefox popup download window and you will get download details.
One is allow the download.
If you are in download history click on the icon that looks like a folder and then you get these options.
I've run firefox for many years, now with win11 it runs VERY slow on different PCs. Really have come to believe that Microsoft put a whammy on it to force us all into MS Edge or whatever they desire.

After paying someone to install win11 on my older desktop because I don't want to lose my extra drives, I hate win 11, looking for ways to changes things back the way I want. Only upgraded because it kept telling me all of a sudden things wouldn't run well, security reasons.. etc... But now I'm sorry I did that.. and not liking MIcrosoft any longer. They should have & probably still could come up with a way to roll things back for us at/home users.. that don't want all the extra garbage.
