Solved Google recovery

Anyone know how to get account password recovery process without them asking SMS validation phone number when you don't have a mobile phone? I have yet to find a way to skip this part of the recovery.

Is it that you currently can not get into your google account now? To recover a google account, it depends on what recovery options you have selected within your google account settings. If "phone" is all you selected when you set up your account, that's the only option you have. See step 4 here.

If you are just asking how to create other recovery methods, you have to have access to the account. Go into your google account, select security & signin, Under "How you sign in to Google" you can select a number of ways you can recover your account. which include recovery email (an alternate email) address), security codes (Google will issue you a list of codes you can use for recovery), passkeys, security question, and others.

I strongly suggest you have more than one recovery method available to you.

Then I am afraid you may be up the proverbial creek without a paddle. It is up to the account owner to keep his recovery options current in his google account. If phone is the only recovery option you are given, that is the only option you chose when you set up the account. With no working recovery option to prove ownership, Google will not give you the account. Google does not provide live support for account recovery

You can try creating another gmail account as per step 5 in the link I listed above and proceeding through the account recovery steps. Possibly Google will contact you through this new account with a recovery code to unlock your old account.

Ask a friend if they would be willing to receive a one-time code from Google for you.

I'm beginning to believe your right and I will be SOL unless Google changes things. Tried Gmail, no better. I even tried creating a new account with another email address I had but they still wanted an mobile number. I will mark as solved as you just confirmed my suspicions.

In the UK, you can receive SMS texts on a landline. It comes as a voice message. If that does not work, just buy a mobile phone.

In my area, I used to be able to get a text-to-landline message, but my provider cut that out a couple years ago.

Go to the recovery page:

Sign in - Google Accounts

Then:

1. Enter the email.
2. When asked for the phone number → click “Try another way.”
3. Keep selecting “Try another way” repeatedly.

If Google has enough history, it may switch to:

• recovery email
• previously used device confirmation
• browser/location recognition
• last password you remember
• delayed verification email (24–72 hrs)

Google explicitly allows recovery without a phone number if other proof exists, but only when its system judges the evidence sufficient.
