I recently installed Proton Drive, but decided it wasn't for me and uninstalled it. It uninstalled, but is still shows up in explorer just above This PC and there is no delete when I right click on it, so how to I get rid of it?

1) try log off/on or restart explorer

2) you can install it again and use revo to uninstall it and remove reg leftovers

3) if comfortable, search your reg for “IsPinnedTo” and cycle through the results until you find the one tied to Proton Drive and delete the key from the left pane (or change the dword value from 1 to 0)

You need to re-install it first, then run REVO Uninstaller.
Make sure to run the "Scan" for leftovers after you do the uninstall.

When you uninstalled the program initially, you uninstalled it's uninstaller as well.
That's why you need to re-install it first.

Choose: Repair.

Then REVO will be able to uninstall it.
As I mentioned, make sure to click the "Scan" (for leftovers), button as soon as REVO offers it.

While you're doing that... here's ten points just for filling out your computer specs. :-)

Ok, try this...

Run the Proton Drive installer again and this time choose: Remove

Make sure to check the "Remove Proton Drive settings and previously remembered credentials." checkbox.
When it finishes... reboot the computer.

On a side note... this is why most of us use backup software.
If you install a program and decide you don't like it, then you can just restore from your backup.
That will remove the program completely.

Also... as mentioned by @pepanee in post #3...

Remove Proton Drive from File Explorer

  1. "Just in case" kinda case: reinstall Proton Drive to uninstall it again, but now make sure to check the "Remove Proton Drive settings and previously remembered credentials." checkbox, then restart the PC and check file explorer;
  2. If step 1 didn't work (and I believe it won't), then open a notepad or stickynotes app, we're going to regedit:
    1. Locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SyncRootManager
    2. For each key within that starts with ProtonDrive!, take note of the NamespaceCLSID value. Jot it down in your notes, that is;
    3. Delete the keys under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID that have names matching the aforementioned NamespaceCLSID values;
    4. Delete the keys mentioned in 2 (that's when we took notes!) that start with ProtonDrive!
    5. Reboot the computer.
    6. If you have other users on your PC, repeat the steps while logged into their Windows users.

If you've never edited the Registry before... just type: regedit.exe ...in the Taskbar search box and it will open.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
Check here and delete the 4BAD70...... key

Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WOW6432Node\CLSID\{4BAD70BA-7F55-40DB-9AF2-94E69C03CFE9}

Also... as mentioned by @pepanee in post #3...

Remove Proton Drive from File Explorer

  1. "Just in case" kinda case: reinstall Proton Drive to uninstall it again, but now make sure to check the "Remove Proton Drive settings and previously remembered credentials." checkbox, then restart the PC and check file explorer;
  2. If step 1 didn't work (and I believe it won't), then open a notepad or stickynotes app, we're going to regedit:
    1. Locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SyncRootManager
    2. For each key within that starts with ProtonDrive!, take note of the NamespaceCLSID value. Jot it down in your notes, that is;
    3. Delete the keys under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID that have names matching the aforementioned NamespaceCLSID values;

Thanks I got rid of it but now I have this "casey.grim85 (32bit)" in the place where Protron Drive was.

Maybe and I don't care about showing it, not using it anyways.
