Solved How to make taskbar opaque?

I have a fully transparent taskbar, despite the settings shown in the screenshot. What to do?
Maybe my registry settings got messed up by some tweak tools I was using and later uninstalled.
I want to have a black taskbar, or at least an opaque one.

If you have TranslucentTB installed... remove that.
TranslucentTB makes the Taskbar clear.

You should be able to right click it, in the START Menu and choose: uninstall
If that doesn't work... REVO Uninstaller (free) will remove it. (it will be in the Windows Apps section)

I don't have that one. I was using TaskbarX and ExplorerPatch. I think that TaskbarX left behind some registry changes even though I uninstalled it.

Well, REVO will search for leftovers in the registry during an uninstall.
So maybe reinstall TaskbarX and then use REVO to uninstall it, and do the... scan for leftovers.

So it turns out that TaskbarX adds itself into Rainmeter, and needs to be deleted also from there. Mission Accomplished.

I've found it best, that when I'm messing around with tweak programs, or any strange program... it's best to uninstall them with REVO, "and" Scan for leftovers.

Also... use backup software. That way you can experiment all you want. If something goes wrong, just restore from a backup.


Most on here use Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper.

Just FYI (I know you're not using it), but Translucent Taskbar (TB) can be adjusted to something other than Clear. Below are the options...
