Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 11 Builds 22631.2506 (KB5031455) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, version 23H2.

(Note: This optional update is currently also rolling out to all customers on Windows 11, version 22H2 including those in Release Preview. Please see this KB article here.)

This update includes the following improvements documented here in this KB article plus these additional changes for Windows 11, version 23H2:
  • Under All apps in the Start menu, Windows 11 system components will now show a “system” label.

Strange behavior.
After reboot, when working on updates, the system detected an overrun and rebooted again, then continued updating, another reboot at 98% and finally came up. 🤷‍♂️

I got this same update on an RTM 22H2 machine earlier today....

...it worked on updates to 30% then rebooted as usual, then continued working on updates up to 100%, then it did an unexpected second reboot.

I've just updated my Insider Release Preview machine. Same behaviour, normal restart at 30% then an additional restart at 100%. No 'overrun' messages for me.

My second one came up fine without any extra reboots and no overrun message. 🤷‍♂️

The desktop on public Build just updated and I had one reboot at 30% and one at 100%.

I got this as well but I can't get the app protection to work. it says I have to re install windows. I have the requirements turned on I will try doing that.🤷‍♂️

On my machine it has a total of 5 apps, all of which are not removable from the system from either there or in the main Apps list.

I haven't verified if there are other non removable apps that are not classified as System components yet.
