MX Creative Console & Actions Ring
  • Actions Ring is a customizable on-screen overlay that lets you quickly access and customize app actions, keyboard shortcuts, and adjustments. Previously available only on MX devices, it’s now accessible on all compatible Logi Options+ mice and keyboards.
Bug fixes
  • Dialpad's dial & roller configuration controls are now disabled when the LogiPluginService is not running.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur while the plugin service was shutting down.

So I've discovered if you set a Action Rings button to switch the mouse between two computers it works perfect and seamlessly switches back and forth between the two PC's. However when I add the third computer to the mix it then becomes glitchy and usually hangs on one of the machines refusing to change machines (I'm forced to use the button on the bottom of the mouse). This is with the 3S however so I'll wait till I get my MX 4 and see how it performs on that one.

Flow works well for file copying between machines but it tends to drive me crazy changing PC's when I accidently move the mouse to the edge of the screen. I greatly prefer the actions ring to change PC's. I ended up just creating two separate actions ring buttons on each of the three PC's action ring with each button switching the mouse to the second or third PC of my choosing. All three are on Options+ ver 1.96 now.

I wish I could get the damn Actions Ring to work on my Laptop!!!

I'm at the point of returning the MX 4 anyway..., all my buttons are the same as my other mice, I see nothing new or jaw-dropping!
And, I can't get Options+ to update on my fecking Desktop anyway!!! 🤷‍♂️

I can't believe your still having all the software problems even with the new MX 4 mouse and latest builds. It's a shame as the actions ring has some nice features and you can pick and choice from a huge list what action buttons you want to put on it. Mine will probably change and evolve but that's the current settings.

It's crazy alright! Sumpthins dickered!
I still have a running ticket with logi support, matter of fact, I just got a reply..., they're stumped too!!! 🤷‍♂️

If I had the guts and the time, I'd start fresh with a bare metal install, but, I've got too much on the go right now!

The MX 4 is connected to my Desktop, but doesn't show up on the Options+ UI cuz I'm stuck on version 1.44!!!
So I can't configure the buttons, which makes it 5 times more useless than my 3S.

(I was kinda hoping the MX 4 had onboard memory!) :cool:

Yeah for people that like to do a lot of customizing to their machines and have a lot of software they also customize a clean install is a sheer nightmare and a ton of work to get it all setup again. Don't wish that on anyone.

I haven't done a clean install in years! I shudder to think of all the prep work alone, not to mention setting everything up again! 😱

Conclusion:
The MX Master 4 does not accomplish anything I can't accomplish with the MX 3 or 3S!

Pros:
• Quality built device, solid materials
• Battery life is very good
• Silent mouse clicks

Cons:
• The shape and feel takes a bit of getting used to after using MX 3's for so long
• A bit pricey for the average user
• The third upper thumb button is too far forward
• The shoulder height is lower and the nose is longer

Pros:
• Quality built device, solid materials
• Battery life is very good
• Silent mouse clicks

Cons:
• The shape and feel takes a bit of getting used to after using MX 3's for so long
• A bit pricey for the average user
• The third upper thumb button is too far forward
• The shoulder height is lower and the nose is longer

Interesting notes and observations. Hope to get mine tomorrow to do my own comparison. I already have the MX 3S thumb button set as my Actions Ring so except for that new forward 3rd button my MX 4 will be configured the same way. The price for the 4 was the same as my 3S so no change there. I'll have to see if I have a preference in shape and feel.
