1) AOMEI is probably more intuitive for beginners.
It is reliable but does not have much of a support system i.e. no direct help system. It does get regular updates.
It has a free version and paid version (one off cost).
2) Macrium Reflect is much more flexible with a great support system, and is significantly faster than AOEMI.
User queries are tagged and monitored and replies are usually within a couple of days.
Unfortunately, for new users it is lease only but you can still download free version (not direct from webpage).
In the end, it comes down to user choice.
Personally, I prefer Reflect's superb reliability, flexibility and support. It has NEVER let me down since I started using it ditching unreliable Acronis.
3) However, there are many other good tools on a par with AOEMI, and a good contender is Hasleo Backup (free) which has most of the premium features of Macrium Reflect.
It is not quite as flexible but has an active forum which supported by developers. It is not a full support system like Macrium Reflect but developers do respond actively to issues and seem proactive in fixing issues.
In the end Macrium Reflect is the Rolls Royce tool but comes at a price. Only individuals can decide if they are willing to pay the price.
However, if one opts to go for the free version of AOMEI, one can be assured it is fine for basic backups.
