Solved Mouse not working

I have noticed that a few times when I start Win 11 there is no mouse pointer. I have tried all sorts to get it back but nothing works other that a re boot then all is fine, I am not sure if it is the mouse or Win 11. Has anyone else had this problem?

Mouse is a sandstrom usb/bluetooth mouse (usb mode) and using Beta 22100.194

Do you have a corded mouse to check things out? I haven't encountered this issue and I'm using a corded mouse.

Did the mouse work before installing the beta driver? If so, you might consider rolling back the driver.

I'm running Windows 10 but had problems in it with a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse and Asus Bluetooth USB dongle; a reboot was the only recourse when it happened which was simply when Windows and the Asus dongle did not quite see eye to eye on the cold boot. I bought a corded mouse to resolve that problem and the problem of not having a mouse in the BIOS since the dongle apparently did not have HID capability.

No I have always used this mouse on this pc from new

No I have always used this mouse on this pc from new, and I put it on win 11 from the start after setting it up on 10

Thanks for info, it works 9 times out of 10, it could well be me accidently pressing the connect button ( I don't so)

Since you're running it in BT mode, you could always check to make sure it is still paired - You'll need to use the nav keys and TAB, but easy enough to do.

Win + I --> Down arrow key until Bluetooth and devices is highlighted --> Space (to select Bluetooth) --> Hit Tab repeatedly until Devices is highlighted --> Hit the Enter key to select --> Now you can use the up and down arrows to scroll the list an Tab to select individual items. What you're really trying to do here it make sure that the mouse shows up.

Of course, as tedious as this is, a reboot might simply be the better option. But one other thing you could take a look at is in Device Manager:

Open Device Manager (Win + X -- Device Manager) --> find your Bluetooth device (usually a brand name like Intel Bluetooth, or something like that) and double click it --> go to the Power Management tab --> disable Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.



See if that helps the situation.
