No Windows Internet Connection

All logical recommendations tried and no solution yet. Thank you for all your suggestions.

The system will connect normally for about 2 minutes after a Restart and then the problems would return.

However, a normal connection will not happen at all after a Shut down and power on no matter how long it is powered off.

What does this behaviour suggest?

You could be having an IP conflict between the physical adapter and the virtual vmware adapters.

Could try going into device manager and disable the vmware adapters then reboot.

do you have fast startup enabled.
control panel > power options
on the left of power options window is

click 'change what the power buttons do'
fast startup will be within that window

to change any settings.
at the top of that window is 'change settings that are currently unavailable'
click that to be able to change settings.

then untick/disable 'fast startup'
save settings and restart the system please.

If there's something that should work in Safe Mode that you can compare when using Safe Mode with Networking you could try that for comparison.
Note that some features/apps will not work in Safe Mode.

Considering the update you consider a possible cause:
Have you tried an in-place upgrade repair install, and NOT received updates as part of that? (I suggested that previously, but I have no idea what you've actually tried of course).
Recall you said this started after the last update.
By doing this and ensuring no updates are received, your build should be set back before that update.
This also can effect some repairs.

the only other thing i would do as all else seems to have failed is to open the device manager and then network adaptors
and uninstall the network controllers by right clicking the network entry and then clicking uninstall.

close the device manager and the restart the system. Windows will reload and install the drivers on restart.
