Whatever combination you do, once you get into editing fan curves, adjust it so the case will have a slight over pressure but not too much. You want the fresh air to flow in from the correct directions, not "stolen" air from odd holes in your case.

You likely already know that you can plug that old drive into your new system and drag any precious content from the old drive onto your new drive via disk management. Easy Peasy. If you do it right you'll even be able to pop the old drive back into the older PC and it'll still boot up. (Just sayin'.)

Meh. She's a coppertop. Full of beans and vinegar and a lot of sass, but sharp as they come. Says she wants to be a mechanical engineer. Who am I to say different? If she keeps getting the grades then power to her. I wish her the best.

I have one of those original Noctua coolers (NH D-14) that had the cream and chocolate fans; didn’t mind the colors too much as for some reason it reminded me of a photo of an old Rolls-Royce so I kind of thought the colors classy. But I did end up replacing the fans with black Chromax to bring the color scheme in line with the black case. I also installed Chromax heatsink covers and ended up leaving them installed even though I really liked the looks of the heatsinks being chrome on that cooler. I never purposely set out to have any RGB in my machines but the Asus Z 590 motherboards in the other two machines light a little, and then the graphics cards lights a lot as well and those two systems do have a glass side. So yeah, I too can say, what have I done!

There's no escape. You either remain retro and sink into the domain of obsolete primal prototypes OR, get with the program and start raining tacos, unicorn poop, and faery dust. The glitz will get you in the end. I liked the AMD X570 Crosshair Hero for what it could do and it was pretty tough to find anything in that genre that wasn't RGB, so I bought it. Back then, anything that OC'd to over 4GHz impressed me and I still had to build my 1rst (and likely last) personal gaming rig to scratch off my bucket list. TBH I don't think I game enough to warrant owning a gaming rig, but after building so many for other people I wanted one for myself. I know... how very vain of me.

The Wraith Prism cooler had to be tamed, but once I beat it into submission the thin little rainbow ring of colour was tolerable. TBH It will likely be the last brand new AMD build I make for myself from scratch. At least I managed to snag a 750 Watt PSU that didn't have RGB. Since I mentioned AMD, I salute AMD for their honest effort; but I have to say they still have a long way to go before they can match Intel in stability, reliability, and over all performance. Yeah, we're all hoping and praying but has anyone noticed how the gap in pricing is closing fast as AMD continues to get more expensive? (Sorry to digress.)

I can't believe Intel is cranking out chips that do 5GHz on air cooling now. Probably a good idea to keep one of those handy now that they're pushing for 6. I heard they hit the 7 mark on LN2 recently. That's insane!

A pink PC?

Not something I commonly see online. Forums tend to be male dominated, and I believe that most males don't do pink. This forum is unusual in having some very prominent female posters. (That's a good thing. If it helps suppress the language that I see in other forums that are dominated by misogynistic gamer boys, it's a great thing.)

Great support because I'm one of those females . . . although I wouldn't build a pink PC, nor would my toolbox and tools be pink. However, I applaud the young ladies who assert themselves with their pink builds! Now, if you gave me the stuff for a purple build, I think I'd be onboard!

FWIW, I've lived in a male dominated world most of my life. In fact, I taught my late husband of 51 years how to work on cars. When we worked on an outside project, he usually let me take the lead . . . that is, if I knew more about it than he did. If he knew more, I let him take the lead.

Thing is, early on, I threatened guys in the male dominated technical world, but as the years have gone by, I and my fellow lady techies have gained more and more acceptance.

Thank you to those who have decided not to be threatened by us gals.

So I got my M.2 in today. The lazy sod in me is saying just try it. I use my Easeus Todo Backup to created an image on my remote drive and will use that to image the M.2. My plane is to use Revo Uninstaller to remove the AMD Chipset and the AMD Install manager and then run the AMD Cleanup Utility and that is done in safe mode by default by the ACU app. I have my hopes up! I think this will work. If it dose I have every thing as it was. Your Thoughts?

You may not need to use Revo Uninstaller. Doesn't Easus Todo have the capability to restore to different hardware? (I use Macrium Reflect, which claims such a feature.)

And even that may be unnecessary. 11 has a pretty good capability in detecting a hardware change, and in switching to the proper drivers. (Not guaranteed to work, though.)

If people can have RGB my girls can have Pink PCs. They're actually getting rather common, but there's little common about my beloved's pink Apevia. My 16 yr old is keen on computer science. My 14 yr old is big on literature and psychology. My 12 yr old coppertop is big on mechanics and she loves sports. She's a ray of effervescent sunshine that lights up a room wherever she goes. Personally, I think she wanted to honour her mother by building a pink DIYPC. (And of course, there's her girlie friends whom she loves to game with and put on lan parties.) Her own main PC is black and blue just like Dad's and she wouldn't trade it for the world.

I'm not sure if DIYPC is still around, but they were getting pretty popular before the global epidemic thing. I have noticed that APEVIA is still being sold. Those are only two companies that sell pink computer cases. My daughter's generation think it's all well and dandy for a girl to have a pink PC and the coppertop brought home a troop of boys from school who loved to game. None of them batted and eyelash but stood in amazement and stood in line for a chance to test drive coppertop's pink PC. It can handle Mine Craft mods so they're impressed. Don't ask... I don't play Mine Craft.

Nobody has Mamma bear's title beat when it comes to pink though. Folks, this is about as pink as it gets.

And despite the huge length of this case I still had a fun time installing a Noctua NH-D15 in the thing. I had to take out the side fan, which is a 240mm piece of pink plastic.

The pictures really don't do this thing justice. She does a lot of knitting and crochet so those fibres tend to collect inside over time. I'm seriously considering modding the side panel with a sheet of glass instead.

And for those who like the retro analog look one is not to be disappointed. The gauges actually work!

Open dee doah and viola! Mega USB 3, a multi-card reader, CD/DVD ROM drives, and yes, a RAID cage, that she has grown to love over the years, as it generates dbl copies of her archives. On the right side are her Operating Systems. That door does an excellent job of keeping the dust out of her ports. Underneath the cage is a spring-loaded drawer where she keeps her USB sticks and other knick-knacks. I apologize for the fuzzy pictures. I'm not really much of a photographer.

So yup... Pink really is a thing. Not really my thing, but as they say, to each their own.

If it handles every MineCraft Java mod there is with ease, then it's an impressive build. That game can be tricky to run well and make it look beautiful at the same time.

I wouldn't know about that but they were testing Java mods and nodding and grinning to each other. I'm just the guy who throws these things together. The fine tuning is left to them. I pay the bills, keep the internet up and running, and build PCs. Now and then I'll play a game but it doesn't take long before I get antsy and start looking for a screwdriver. lol The Coppertop says it works best in "amplified" mode in Mine Craft. I have a sneaky suspicion a 3090 (or something higher) might be best for those fancy mods. Not gonna shell out for that.

Yes, if you want RTX (Ray Tracing) and PBR (Physical Based Rendering) in Minecraft Java then definitely a higher end card is a must. Minecraft being just bricks with randomized textures, looks pretty darn beautiful once you add the previously mentioned technologies into the game. Gold looks like Gold, rather than just some odd kidney stones, and the environment lighting and shades look really good. :zany:
