Uh, you should really explore your UEFI more fully - if that has PCIe 4.0 I'm betting it's new enough to at least have firmware-based TPM, if nothing else. And if it does, no need to buy anything - just figure out where it is and turn it on.

I can't say for certain as I don't have an Intel Z590 board - but check carefully before buying anything.

Will do...I'm not buying anything anytime soon. I looked thru the BIOS once and saw no mention of TPM - can do again.

Or, you wait and see if someone develops workarounds to make Win 11 usable on non-supported machines.

I mean, it may try to be RTM by October, but for the end user the availability is not for over 6 months.

A lot can happen in 6 months.
I would think so. but just incase.

It's probably either under PTT or iPTT, if its Intel. fTPM for most AMD MoBo's

Looked thru BIOS - no mention of PTT or IPTT - manual says it has the header - module sold separately.
Just checked for newer BIOS - there is one - 2 months newer than what I have - will give that a shot.

PTT and TPM are only for boards with an Intel Chip .....yours is using AMD chip, so you should look for something like a fTPM in your Advanced tab in your bios. I am not familar with AMD at all. So can only give you a suggestion. :-)

After reading this, I tend to agree more with both their aims and their reasoning behind the requirements.

However, I do apologize - while it seemed I was saying you in particular were getting antsy I clearly did not make it obvious that I was trying to say that in general versus aiming it at you. I apologize.

A lot of posts here, at Windows Questions and tenForums have been people getting close to irate just because their PC is showing as not supported. So many have completley overlooked everything I wrote in that reply, so I was trying to reply to the thread, and didn't make the distinction of where my reply to you ended and where what I wrote was for everyone to read....

I'll fix it

EDIT - fixed.

Again, sorry about that.
no offense taken. no apology needed

@Old Mike65 - I have an AMD and INTEL machine - was referring to the INTEL machine here - sorry for the confusion.
I entered System 2, INTEL, specs and for got to save

I'm getting very frustrated: We have 2 Surface Go with Pentium Gold 4415Y 1.6 GHz CPUs, TPM 2.0, 4 GB RAM & 128 MB SSD; it's failing the CPU check.

Yet, the Surface Go 2 with Pentium Gold 4425Y 1.7 GHz CPU, TPM 2.0, 4 GB RAM, & 128 MB SSD are advertised as being fully W11 compatible.

They're both Kaby Lake designs; the only apparent difference is that one CPU is clocked 100 MHz faster. Does that really make such a difference to W11?

Inquiring minds want to know, before I drop another $1500 to replace them next year.

It's still early. It will be a week or so before the Insiders even get Win 11.
Win 10 will be supported till 2025.

Best thing you can do is just wait a bit, and see how things develop.

Nothing is set in concrete yet. :)

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
I have 5 computers in my home. Two will run Windows 11. The other 3 will not and yet they are viable machines. My question for Microsoft is will they allow swapping the motherboard and CPU for ones that are Windows 11 compatible and make the software licenses work on the new hardware? I'm not in the mood to purchase 3 Windows and Office licenses because Microsoft is making 3 of my PC's obsolete. If Microsoft won't let office and windows run on the new motherboard and CPU they will make a fortune. I smell something rotten but it could just be my opinionated brain. I can't wait to see how Microsoft handles the software transfers of their software licenses.

Strangely enough when I built my Ryzen system in 2019/20 I put a 1TB M2 drive in for the boot drive and let Windows 10 partition it and it did not set it with GPR and secure boot on. Is there an easy in place way to upgrade from Legacy boot, MBR and Secure Boot without a complete format and reinstall?

I downloaded and ran the PC Health check and was horrified to see my PC did not meet requirements.
I have an i9 9900k, RTX 270 Super and Aorus Z390 Pro mobo...surely my PC isn't out of date already?

Turns out I needed to enable the TPM thing in my bios (I think it was called something slightly different by Intel) and also convert my HDD from MBR to GPT so that I could enable UEFI and secure boot. I did have a little bit of a panic attack while converting to GPT, and making sure I could still boot after changing bios settings, but it all worked out and now my PC is compatible! Yay!
I had to convert from MBR to GPT to enable UEFI Boot and Secure Boot also and now my computer passes the test (after also enabling TPM in BIOs and updating my BIOs).

I ended up using EaseUS Partition tool to convert my MBR to GPT without losing all my data. Had to buy the pro version to do it though............
As for switching from legacy to UEFI that's done in your BIOs setup.

Couldn't sleep. I ran the Win 11 install but as expected NO. MBR, GPT OR UEFI. As I posted it's was Just for fun. I'll wait for Ghost Spectre to come out with Windows Ghost Spectre 11. Clean and Polished. Why wait to have MS to shove down your throat what you don't want or need. Just my opinion. Nothing better then controlling MS... Anyway the DEV is in my VM. Posting there by the way.

My machine--a whopping 11 months old--isn't eligible due to the TPM issue as well. Specifically, it has a header on the board but no module. So before the mass stampede to Newegg and Amazon etc began, I ordered a 14-1 pin module.

Oh, and somehow this actually stings but...I got kicked out of the Insiders Beta channel because of this. Sometime today, without my knowledge, MS booted me to the Release Preview channel. Geez, Windows 11 is non-stop, action-packed lately. Anyone else experience this? Ouch, right?

Your board will have firmware TPM, do to the Advanced section of your BIOS and look for PCH-PW or PTT and turn it on.
