Windows 11 ARM
Hello, I have a Lenovo Yoga C630-13Q50 Snapdragon laptop with a Qualcomm 850 chip. It's pretty old at this point but is listed as supporting Windows 11 on the Lenovo website.

My problem is I recently upgraded to Windows 11 (26100.4652) and now when I go into tablet mode the portrait orientation is inverted. I did not have this problem in Windows 10.

I ended up disabling the "Simple Device Orientation Sensor" in the device manager and using bat files to change orientation once in tablet mode. It would be nice to get it working properly though.

Any help would be appreciated!

I have contacted Lenovo but they just gave me the run-around re-install Windows bs and then stopped responding.

I asked this question to AI and was given very detailed instructions. The first are general. Then I asked about your particular device toward the bottom.. Here is a link to the answer. https://chatgpt.com/share/6879fc75-a038-8004-8608-0036079389f7
Well, I tried all of the above fixes but no go.

I am pretty sure the problem is with the motherboard. When I first got this laptop the original motherboard only had 4gb of memory so I replaced it with one off AliExpress that has 8gb. The weird thing is the rotation works fine under Windows 10 which makes me think it is a driver issue and not a hardware issue.

Not saying anything is wrong with the ram, but just warning you that purchasing something like ram from questionable sources is ill-advised.

Sorry I have nothing left to offer regarding a fix to your issue. I agree that it may well be some incompatibility with the driver. At least, I'm glad you still have the workaround of using the bat files. Have you checked windows update>optional updates to make sure there are none listed to be applied.

I actually bought the whole motherboard. The ram and drive are soldered to the motherboard.

There is a qualcomm update that is sitting in the optional updates of Windows but if I install it I get a BSOD on reboot. I tried the update after every Cumulative Patch pushed by Microsoft but need to uninstall it in recovery every time.

I agree buying from Aliexpress wasn't the smartest thing but getting an 8GB motherboard from any other source in my region would cost more than the laptop did.

Thank you for the assistance though. The laptop works great in all other regards so I'll just keep using my bat files to rotate it.
