remove recent events from Protection History


I have read many ways to remove recent items from Defender's protection history but none work or only apply to Windows 10.
When I reboot these items are still listed.
I have built up quite a list over time.
Or am I better off leaving them there. I wonder why others can but I cannot; I suspect something wrong may be wrong with my system; I did get a reply from M.S. that some users are having trouble with this task but a cumulative update just came out and I still cannot remove them.
I prefer not to hack the reg as my skill level is not that good. I did follow file explorer 's folders to the end of the chain and deleted as told.
Is there some way to accomplish this?

You can use the attached batch script to remove Windows 11 protection history.

Mine go back to 4 OCT 2020. It's not affecting anything so I leave well alone.

I tried which UAC balked at. It was not recognized as an operable command and could not be run either.
Thank you anyway.
Good advice Fabler 2 if you have the same issue with Win 11 and Windows reports users as having issues with it.
21H2 Build 22000.438 - is both of yours the same?

Finally! I did not double click and UAC stopped me till I allowed it. I put a 1 where it asked for # of days.
So what does it do now because right now the entries are still there?
Do they go away in one day?

I got as far as History and when clicked upon it said unknown. The tutorials show deleting the History folder. Should I have done that?
I am curious, why run the batch file if you then follow file explorer?

You type 1 to CLEAR WINDOWS DEFENDER PROTECTION HISTORY.

You can type 2 to CHANGE NUMBER OF DAYS AFTER WHICH THE PROTECTION HISTORY LOG WILL BE CLEARED.

I can't say why it doesn't work for you. I tested it myself and it cleared history
Do not delete the hirstory folder itself, only its contents.

after service you get detection history and I get unknown

Well I did clear after History to no avail. Would you recommend I reset my pc as it may be faulty or leave as is?

You could try restoring or repairing Windows security. Through apps & features. My own windows are in Finnish, but maybe someone with English windows (And with better English.) can help more if you need to. :)
