Screenshots. Where are they saved?


Hi Andrew. Thanks. I agree that creating another picture folder will cause more problems than it solves. She doesn't store any financial docs, pdf or screenshots, but transfers them to a USB. I will urge her not to take screenshots. Thanks again.

When you take a screenshot, if you open snipping tool, choose NEW button, you have the option of choosing, what kind of screenshot (rectangular, freeform, window,fullscreen). You can choose where to save it as well as name it...or at least I do.

If they insist on storing a lot of important stuff on the usb they could use bitlocker to go or veracrypt.

@Mitch Sorry, I missed a step. You get those options if, when the snip opens, you click on the little disk icon on the toolbar. It looks like a floppy disk.

Hi glasskuter. Thanks for the info. Haven't used Snipping Tool before. I assume if we select USB drive for saving, the screenshot would go straight there without being autosaved on C drive on the way there. Thanks again.

That's correct. In "save as" select the USB drive letter and any folder on it of your choosing.
