Stalling multiple times after waking from sleep mode

When I wake my computer up from sleep mode, it will start up quickly as normal, but after about 30 seconds of normalcy, all open applications will stall and I cannot click anything for about a minute. Then, everything will come back and function normally for about a minute. The cycle of stalling and coming back happens 3 to 4 times every time I wake my laptop from sleep mode, which means that the first 10 minutes after waking from sleep is basically useless.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? It has been a real blockage in my productivity lately, and is unacceptable.

My laptop specs:
HP Spectre 14 x360
14th Gen Intel Core Ultra 7 155H
Intel Arc Graphics
16GB RAM
1TB SSD
Windows 11 Home - Version 24H2 (26100.34476)

Highlight the CPU column if you would please so we get the highest cpu users instead of the highest memory users here.

reboot and do this while you are having the lags.

CPU column highlighted. Of course, after putting the computer to sleep and waking it back up again, the problem doesn't occur this time. I can assure you that it happens every time I do it though.

Yeah, Murphy is very clear about that. Do it a few times and maybe reboot and see if you can catch it. I had to remove my iCue but you're not having corsair probs and it wouldn't cause lags anyway...

Try running a Clean Boot. If that works, you can keep it this way. If you want to find out what's causing it,
Add one or more Services or Start Up items at a time until the behavior returns, then you will know what the culprit.

I've tried rebooting multiple times throughout the day and, of course, the problem still hasn't occurred again! I did note that iCue was taking up the most CPU usage upon resuming from sleep mode, but that was only ~15% usage.

I will try a clean boot and see over the course of the next few days if that fixes the issue. Will update here what I find out.

If iCue is really taking up 15%, I would remove it immediately. My Corsair kbd and mouse continue to function fine after I removed it.

I haven't had any problems since I uninstalled iCue. I did notice that whenever my laptop stalled, the lights and my profile settings on my Corsair mouse would both stop. When my laptop stopped stalling, the lights and profile would come back. It seems like the stalling and iCue had something correlating.

Some other things to look at:

Anytime I see issues coming out of sleep, there are two things that I check.

1) Disable Fast Startup

Image1.webp

2) Especially for a laptop, make certain that you are using the display driver from the OEM, NOT a generic driver from Intel, Nvidia, AMD.

I feel bad for Corsair but I had to remove iCue because it was making my keyboard and mouse very unstable, not just weird light stuff. I realize now that I had to install it to get needed firmware updates for both(especially mouse to stop double-click), but then, having done that, I had to uninstall it.

I feel bad for Corsair but I had to remove iCue because it was making my keyboard and mouse very unstable, not just weird light stuff. I realize now that I had to install it to get needed firmware updates for both(especially mouse to stop double-click), but then, having done that, I had to uninstall it.
I use a slightly different method. I simply disable the iCue service from starting (don't recall the precise name and not in front of that machine now). But this way, if I need to do something with iCue I just temporarily re-enable the service, get done what I need to do, and then disable it again. At least for me, much easier than uninstalling it altogether.

EDIT: It may not technically be a service, it's in startup. I'll get more detail once in front of that machine again.

Yes, I would think that would do it - I just didn't anticipate that I would ever need the iCue app again.

I bought a Corsair K55 for my wife, disappointing and feels cheap. I love my K95 RGB Platinum, I love iCue also.
