Goodness! A lot of steps here. I've been chastized previously for running batch files I didn't understand, so I'm reluctant to do this. Also, it's a batch file intended for Win 10 and I'm running Win 11.

When I did that upgrade for my W10 HP computer It installed and then all the other updates ensued, Bios, drivers etc.

Did you get offered a BIOS update via Windows Update, Jacee?
I have read of this happening at least once before.

Same error message when attempting BIOS update from within Windows. Tried from a flash drive; got to here then directions no longer were helpful.

Have you ever changed BIOS settings at all? Reset the BIOS to defaults, reboot into the BIOS, try the Flashing again.

BIOS Update Error Not Enough Disk Space - Delete Files

When trying to install BIOS update (ROM Family SSID 8917) I get an error stating there is not enough disk space and to delete files to increase space. However the BIOS is located on the motherboard and my C drive has 865 Gig free. Any ideas why this is happening and how to get around it?

Tony I know a lot of methods have been thrown at you, but if you’re trying them post by post, you may succeed.


Other things to try.
First (Use a different USB Flash drive for the BIOS, use a USB Port on the back of the PC)

One

Disable fast boot:

1. Turn on or restart the computer, and when the HP logo appears, press f10 to enter Computer Setup.
2. Select Advanced, and then select Boot Options.
3. Clear Fast Boot.
4. Select Save Changes and Exit, and then select Yes.
5. Place the USB into the back of the PC
6. Reboot back into BIOS and try Flashing

Two

  1. Turn off the computer
  2. Unplug all the cables from the back of the computer (especially the PSU power cable)
  3. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release it to drain the flea power (static electricity.)
  4. Open your case
  5. Remove the cmos battery and wait for a little more than 30 seconds
  6. Replace battery
  7. Enter BIOS
  8. Reset to defaults
  9. Save and shutdown
  10. Place the USB into the back of the PC
  11. Reboot into BIOS
  12. Try flash the BIOS (Maybe use the UEFI Diag method I mentioned above it it works)

Which is the ESP partition?
I was asking in the beginning of this thread, perhaps the partition needs to be expanded/increased?

Efi System Partition is usually 100mb , I make mine 300mb. If the link is correct the bios file is extracted to the esp which seems odd.
