Same issue for me. I just came across this while Googling the issue. So frustrating! You have to wait 10-20 seconds after an extended lock screen / no use, and then eventually clicks will trigger. The mouse still moves but you can't do anything

I've just done an update of all my drivers, but I doubt that'll fix it. Posting here so I can hopefully keep in the loop :)

its a Microsoft issue, so probably not.

Disable widgets if you don't need them. I think an older post mentioned to switch off location as well. I suspect the weather widget or other widget tries to get current location and for some reason causes delay. Just set a fixed location or disable it and see if the issue is gone.

I've disabled the widget for some time now but nothing has happened, the problem persists, now I have half the screen that doesn't work, good!
I was forgetting, I have had the OS installed again after formatting just over a month ago. Please tell me!!!

Just by disabling the widgets is not enough.The feature must be completly uninstall

How to completely uninstall Widgets feature on Windows 11 - Pureinfotech

To remove Widgets completely on Windows 11, open PowerShell (admin) and run the "Get-AppxPackage *WebExperience* | Remove-AppxPackage"

This was posted on the previous page and completely fixed the issue for me "Windows Pro users can use GPE to disable Widgets at Computer Configuration/ Administrative Templates/ Windows Components/ Widgets, just set the policy to disable."

I can confirm that this fixes the Desktop Icon issue. I have Windows 11 Pro and I disabled the Widgets and it fixed my problem.

I have 22621.2283 Windows 11 Home version and the bug has not been fixed yet

perhaps either because they don't know about the bug or there aren't enough users who are affected by it, few of us count for nothing.

some time ago, I reported various things on the feedback hub and in the following months the problems were not resolved and are still there. So as I said again, they didn't get enough numbers of users to intervene.

Add me to the list! Grateful for this thread as it lets me know I'm not crazy. Waking from longer sleep sessions leaves icons on the left (I only have them on the left) unclickable. For the record, this is a brand new PC with Windows 11 Pro. All updates installed (but not an insider). I have just performed the true uninstall of the web experience package as described above using a terminal windows so we'll see if that helps. FWIW, my PC has no S3 mode available, even through bios settings. It only supports S0 modern standby and hibernate, both of which I have disabled. That is, if I run powercfg -a, it reports S0 and S3 both as unavailable on this system. Hibernate is also not listed as an option since I have it turned off. Windows Power settings set to sleep = never, turn monitor off only after 5 minutes, so technically, the PC is always fully on as modern standby has been disabled completely because I need to run tasks using Task Scheduler overnight, and modern standby doesn't allow TS tasks to run when it moves to its deepest states of power savings.

In any event, I'll keep watching this thread for more updates and I'll let you know if the problem returns even after uninstalling the web experience package.
