WD Elements appears as 'local disk'

I was just doing what someone had suggested . .. take out the drives.
I already stated that in some cases the bridges are soldered to the drives and that you can't connect those back to SATA. This is typical of WD but the older My Books (which I previously mentioned) can be shucked. I also recommended watching some YouTube videos on this subject first so that you would learn which ones could be shucked and which ones could not.

Anyway, according to Jumanji, those drives are burnt so it is immaterial. I trust his judgment because his knowledge of mechanical drives is excellent. I believe he also warned you about this concerning the My Passport drives. Please, please just listen to him and follow every thing he says. I've worked with hundreds of hard drives myself, if not a thousand. That's how I know he's right.

Gave Dell touch screen with Windows 11 to daughter and got me an OTVOC. Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
@M1000tutorials

Referring to the HDS screenshot you posted
In the left pane by default your system disk is selected. What "Overview" you see pertains to your system disk inside your laptop.

To select any other connected disk you should mouse-click on it and check what the "Overview" states. (The selected disk will get a blue shade)

The WD10JPVX-60JC3T1, a 1TB WD internal disk is faulty and its performance and health is (?) - questionable. I do not know what the "Overview" will state. You have to check.

What I said earlier "Wow that are a lot of drives!!! How many of them are internal and external?" was meant for Scannerman with his 22 drives attached to one system. I don't want to know what this all draws power wise..... I think he does not need them all the time. Disks with Win 11, 7. You only can run one at a time.
Come, come, Hader old chum, old pal, and fellow European colleague etc. etc. You know we North Americans are a power hungry bunch. It's practically part of our culture! Besides, most of those drives pretty much go to sleep when they're not being used anyway. A guy's gotta have his toys. I could be wasting power on other things but I chose PCs because they fit my lazy man's profile. Besides, I'm running a family pseudo-server here and doing crazy man's things. You should know that by now. Remember our long and entertaining narratives??

Now I'm not saying everyone should be doing what I do. I'm a sort of hobbyist/enthusiast/frankensteinist sorta guy. I'm just saying multiple drives aren't so bad and sometimes they can be pretty handy. Besides, it's amazing what one can do with a few HBA cards in a system. They don't all have to be running full bore all at once. Now my feelings are hurt. 😢

I was gonna brag about how I just added another 22TB of much needed storage to my Windows 11 abomination. Why did I do it? A: Because I can and this is my Mount Everest as I can't go mountain climbing anymore. At least I'm not pulling 240V every time I plug something into a wall socket. :::shrugs::: Anyway, for what it's worth . . .

doneadded.webp

I'm running around 140 TB total on this system with external storage and you can best believe the external storage isn't running 24/7. My cap will be 100TB (internal) by the time I'm done coz I'm da scannerman and this is a work station. I mean to put it to work.

Nice seein' you again, Hader. Hoping all works well with you across the pond! 😉

Plus we have indoor A/C, so the extra drives don't cook our homes like an oven. :giggle:
