In my case, I used Exchange Mail Client - included with Windows 9x. It grew into Outlook 98 for Windows the out of order
outlook that Microsoft gave away. I have been with Outlook ever since.

Naw! I've had my fill of Email Clients for this year!

Actually, my altercation with Mailbird has opened my eyes a bit, to the extent of: Email apps - most are virtually the same pig with a different shade of lipstick!

Happy Xmas everyone (and PLEASE no more "Festive season" stuff. It's XMAS. If people don't like it then they should "Dog muzzle" thmseleves. To quote the UK's most hated slogan adopted by their (non running or striking railway companies" ) -- "See It --Say it --- Sorted".

I want XMAS drinks. Xmas dinners, Xmas enjoyment. Forget all that woke "Festive Season" Baloney.

And to ANY UK resident on these forums -- whoever has been on ANY FESTIVE train in the UK -- it's usually an expensive, overcrowded and uncomfortable form of travel.

Compare High speed link (faster than Eurostar) -- for 35 EUR (Madrid to Malaga - approx 420 KM in just over 2 hrs with London to Eastbourne - 2 hrs 50 mins for approx 75 km at 85 EUR.

Festive travel means for me - zero jams, no crowds absolute creature comfort and pampering at minimal cost. !!!

Many years ago I ended up getting used to using the old Outlook Express. It worked well enough for me and I liked the integration of the USENET client. Matter of fact I stayed with XP much longer than I wanted to due to the lack of a replacement email client for later versions of Windows. I had every intention of moving to desktop Outlook as I was used to that from earlier years in my work environment. But I just couldn't see "paying" for Outlook. So I finally ended up going with one named Outlook Express Classic...now using Pro(paid). It is basically a clone of OE except the NNTP integration doesn't work. I eventually got a subscription to MS 365 with the hope of finally moving to Outlook. I have a ton of archived email(maybe I'm a closet horder lol) but converting all those previous messages to something useful to Outlook seemed daunting.
So here I am not still using OE Classic with a subscription to MS 365 mainly for Outlook that I don't use. I have T-bird for my usenet client.
I have multiple email accounts from several sources.

Geez, Jimbo. I do Christmas because it makes my mother happy, but I don’t much appreciate it myself. I also understand that we as a humanity are diverse in our beliefs. I respect those diverse beliefs.

I just want an email client that gets my email from starting point to destination, me. All these email clients now that rout the email through their servers are concerning. I just want one what doesn't.

I was sending messages across the country, before there even WAS an internet or email, as we know it today.

For some time, I tried every email program that came along, and was disappointed by most of them, except for Outlook Express.
I used it to download my email from Google (GMail). I was deeply saddened when it was replaced by Windows Mail in Vista.
But the transition was really not at all Bad. I used Windows mail through Win-7, Win-8.1 and when it would no longer work in Win 10/11, I found and started using "O.E.Classic" an Outlook Express Clone. I liked it so much that I paid for the PRO Version, which I'm still running today. The only part of it that I backup, is the Address Book.
