I like The new start menu, I did however re install Open-Shell just for the Transparency that it give to the Taskbar. It also only takes up less that 7 MB compared to The TB one, and it actually does start with Windows 11.

We, the enthusiasts are a tiny subset of the non business users, that mostly go as far as setting a picture of their dog or their Granny as a wallpaper, as the only customisation they do, and as has been already said the only ones that pay for microsoft software the business users, and corporations do not want any customisations if possible, except for ones that can be locked down until needed for their purposes Microsoft make a small part of their income from the regular non business users , a tiny percentage of that from those here who may give suggestions to microsoft to allow customisations to this that or the other,

The major cash cow for microsoft is the business market so they get what they want,

It would be great if we could have all our own version of Windows, but every thing you make customisable makes the OS more complex, and this means its more difficult to manage, and troubleshoot when it breaks something unintentionally - this all costs money, which upsets the subset of users - the business users, who end up paying more for the OS for something they never wanted in the first place.

And I agree as well. Having been a programmer for over 20 years I would hate to try and maintain all of that code that allows so much customization. While it would be nice to have for some I don't know how many would really make use of it and as it was pointed out business drives the bus and when they want it one way they get their wishes.

Which work only on Beta and Dev versions, we can take an educated guess but don't know for definite what will still work come the 5th of October.

Microsoft has never started legal proceedings against a developer who offers a tool to make windows different from the default - not that I know off anyway. If you take a cynical view then it may get a few more windows users that may have gone elsewhere without the option from the third party. And Microsoft does not need to pay for the development or the maintenance cost

OK it you took a copy of windows and hacked it about and then started selling it as a complete package then Microsoft would be at your door, shaking their lawyers at you, which would be understandable

If a user has the Proper Skill sets this can be done, there are tools available to do this, to configure Windows 10 or 11 to ones specific wants or needs. Many will use 3rd party Themes. I will use Windows 11 for the most part as developed, but why use an app from MS that does not start with Windows to get a transparent Taskbar when Open-Shell does it at startup and with less drive space.

I have never had any issue with the task bar, I run with it on auto hide and run my applications 95%+ of the time full screen so transparency of the taskbar is not an issue for me, but have no issue with someone else wanting a transparent taskbar. I would like it if microsoft would fix the long lasting issue where occasionally the taskbar fails to pop up when it should or pops up behind the open application but everyone has their own issues with Windows - it's part of the fun

If anything is working on the Beta 22000.194, and your system is hardware compliant it should be fine going forward.

I have been offered 22000.194 twice, the first time, a few days ago, on my Release Preview windows 10 system, and again on the following day on the same machine as the official upgrade to Windows 11 - [I declined both as I am testing other software at present and do not want to complicate things]

So yes, assuming you're using a foreground user app that is CPU intensive, it may well perform faster due to the increased prioritization of foreground apps.
