I have to totally disagree with you. My Windows Phones were way better than any Android Phone I ever owned. Even My Galaxy S22+ phone that I own now.

A good percentage of laptops are touch screen. I have a 24” Wacom Pro that can act as an extended monitor that is touch screen. I actually like using it sometimes

I agree on the whole UI aspect of the OS on windows phones but people just liked iPhone better. No I hate Apple with their expensive phones/computers

My problem is that after using a touch screen, I reach out to touch any screen and leave fingerprints on them with no resulting effect 😄

My sons computer, I touch the screen “Dad it’s not a touch screen, remember?” As he grabs the glass cleaner.

My screens are all touch screens, and I use them. But I do keep a big, fluffy microfiber cloth at the ready.

Thanks for sharing that opinion because as a previous Mac user for 29 years, that info doesn't jump in my head. That said --

-- you couldn't possibly be arguing that Windows needs 10 years to remove/replace the Control Panel with Settings? It could have been done day one in a beta situation, and maybe the beta lasted a few years at worst?

Having come from a background of corporate software development, I can tell you that when you are making a product ready to meet a deadline, there is a hierarchy of priorities. The Control Panel still works just fine. My guess would be that replacing it would have a very low priority. Delivering an OS that has as few bugs as possible would have a very high priority.

What kind of issues did you have? That's this forum for, just tell us to help you fix them. Reset automatically? Don't think so. Probably you tried to fix an issue and did it yourself by accident. Windows 11 is just an improved version of Windows 10, much like Windows 8.1 is for original Windows 8.0 In fact the full version number of Windows 11 23H2 build 4037 is 10.0.22631.4037 with the 10 at the front implying a Windows 10 version. Standard Windows 10 versions have the version number 10.0.19xxx.xxxx with version number from 20xxx and higher reserved for Windows 11. Also, as I have said many times, a computer running Windows 11 is as secure as and as fast as running Windows 10 64-bit with the same drivers and the same configuration. Nothing changes apart from the GUI (skin). Windows 11 is more secure when you do a clean installation only because some security/privacy settings are enabled by default to improve security. You can enable the SAME settings in Windows 10 64-bit to make it more secure as well. If you upgrade from 10 to 11 the security settings remain as they are (with some exceptions), so your computer is not more secure by magic only because it is running Windows 11. You must also enable these settings with their respective impact on performance and compatibility with older applications.

If he doesn't like Windows 11 there is no need to complain about it, at least not on too many posts. Just format your disk and go back to Windows 10 or whatever. Why WE need to know about it? I hate Linux too, but I don't start a "fight" on a Linux forum. It's my own opinion that Linux sucks and Linux users don't care about it.
