You mean, Windows applications that won't run on Linux.

i have no real issues with 11. All 4 of my home desktops I support are still on 10, and mostly because they don't give me any trouble and there really isn't anything that 11 offers that I feel I gotta have.
My work laptop and my Beelink mini PC that I use everyday is running 11. Work upgraded my laptop and I had no say, and the Beelink i bought specifically to run 11. I can easily switch back and forth between my systems without even realizing for the most part that I am on a different OS. And I don't use any third party tools or such to make any new version run and act like an older version.

My OS is just a base. It's the apps I work and interact with. As long as the apps run, the OS just sits quietly in the background and I don't really notice it.

I like windows 11. Don't like the ads, but after turning them all off, I enjoy it. I even find the microsoft account thing not to bad.

I think overall I did like 10 better. But I dont find 11 that bad. I think windows 7 was my favorite of all time.

If I remember correctly, you can use the Compatibility Administrator in the Windows ADK to lie to an application about which version of Windows it's running on, assuming it's using standard API functions to get the Windows version. If it's doing things like looking in the registry or something, it's harder to lie to that app.

I've had such a laptop but it's quite tiring to hold your hand in mid air all the time. I would never pay extra for a touch screen on a laptop. Makes more sense on a tablet or phone.
