As of this post date: The latest Public Release via Media Creation Tool ISO download is
Windows 11 Version 24H2 build 26100.2300
The latest Public Release ISO download from Microsoft is
Windows 11 Version 24H2 build 26100.1742
Which is what I upgraded with and seems to be bug free

Hmm OK. I didn't have to do that, I just ran the batch in post one.
Now I believe Rufus BETA just works without having to run anything, as long as you select the skip TPM. I am yet to test. But Pete said he was adding the commands so...

When I ran the script skip_tpm_check v13 again so it INSTALLED (in green) the setup.exe does not do anything. Check it out to confirm my findings.

I'll take your word for it. I'm kind of happy that it worked as I posted in post #1 and that now it works with Rufus 4.6

    I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
I tried using Rufus 4.6 to perform an in-place upgrade (keeping files, etc.) of an older licensed Win 10 AMD desktop machine - no TPM - to Win 11. It didn't work. I was never presented with the keep apps and files options. It behaved as if a new, fresh install and asked for a new Win 11 license. I aborted it. Am I missing something or misunderstanding what Rufus can do?

Hi, welcome to the forum 🙏

Are you running the upgrade from within Windows?

In Windows:
  • Plug in the Rufus v4.6 created USB
  • Go to file explorer
  • Open the USB drive
  • Right click setup.exe and run as admin.

Sorry, I don’t know if the bugs have been fixed but you can use Rufus to create an install USB with any Windows 11 ISO

As for that version of Windows, it’s an Indsiders version?
