Allow third party scheduled tasks to bypass desktop login.

I am using the third party app, 'EaseUS Todo Backup Free' to perform a scheduled backup onto an external Drive, but I have to be logged in for it to launch.

Can I import the app into Windows Task Scheduler..., how?

OR

Can I give the app permission to bypass the desktop login..., how?

Worse comes to worse, I'd rather backup manually than not use a desktop login password.

Hi @Ozpink, welcome to the Eleven Forums. 🙏

I don’t know of any easy way to have an app/software to wake a computer that isn’t on. Waking one from Hibernation/Sleep is probably different. I also don’t know if these options would be available in the free version. Seems like it would be an advanced option in Easeus.

See if the manual helps (From page 20)

BUT this link is for Enterprise version, like I said, I would doubt the free version has these options.

Most scheduled tasks will automatically run a missed task after the user has logged back into windows.
You could also probably setup a “Basic Task” in Task Scheduler to run the backup at a certain time after logging in. But you would need to know what to have scheduler call on (like a batch file or the Easeus backup task) and again, I don’t know how much the program offers as a FREE user.

I can’t find another example of a Basic Task anywhere. But I am used to creating one for FreeFileSync
You would need to replace the FreeFileSync executable with the Easeus executable and the argument would have to be replaced by the backup task. (If Easeus creates one)

I realise this is way off track, but it is at least an example on how to create a Basic Task

Thanks very much for your input. I'm unsure of doing programmer changes to my system, though my free version of EaseUS 'does' have a schedule window. I didn't notice if it had the "Upon Event" option, but have taken screenshots of the Enterprise Manual & will compare with my version.

Just tried it out, my version does have that option (in theory), but when I tap "OK" it links to a subscription window. So 'that's' what those diamond symbols mean! LOL
