^ That's obviously the genuine counterpart. You wrote that Amazon is selling the same fake ones. (Either that or you have me diffused... ehh... confused...)

It's kind of ironic that Amazon ARE selling these directly and at normal RRP (around £450).
Amazon risking fines *any guess will do* times the profit they would make from selling counterfeit CPU’s… ummmm no?

I deal extensively with Amazon and I find that they withdraw from sale anything I point out as fake and they remove the seller too and refund immediately if I have purchased. Anyone can sell on Amazon unfortunately which makes it much like eBay in many aspects.

Hi,
I've bought used items from amazon warehouse and sold and shipped from amazon plus from some well known and not so well known sellers
Only trick I've grown to use is look for shipped by at least shipping and of course fast free 30 day returns and don't let items sit around and not open or use if you do nobodies fault but your own if it's not what you bought.

Most recent was I bought a backplate that came incomplete seller was titan rigs most people have read about them
They sent another one no charge and didn't want the incomplete one.

Amazon also makes mistakes
They refunded me on a 980 pro 2tb m.2
I did return a different 2tb m.2 on a different order, plus a defective battery charger this item I also bought with the 980 pro.
I asked amazon chat about it and I said I'd be happy to return the 980 pro I was thinking about returning it anyway lol amazon read my mind :plead:

But support said no you don't need to send it in we appreciate you reporting the error so keep the m.2.

Amazon is pushing really hard for me to subscribe to business prime which is even more than normal prime lol
Not going to happen though.

By the way amazon does charge 10% to sellers.

I don't think this is really 100% Amazon's fault , although, yes, they could police who is selling what on their site a little better, but it is up to the user to report scams also. You just need to be careful and read fully the description and feedback of what you are looking to purchase, if something looks too good to be true ..... then it probably is.

My experience is, I have bought some quality merchandise off Amazon , but most everything I had gotten from China was crapolla, IMO , I don't even know why we let them do business in the U.S. , most everything they sell is a knock off of something else.

I maintain an open account with Amazon, and I use it almost weekly. But I know what I'm buying and I usually only buy Name Brand merch.
If something is "Sold by Amazon" it may not come from their warehouse and it may not even come via UPS, but by Mail. And, that is not acceptable for me.
Buyer Beware! Yes, beware of what you're buying and where it's coming from, and how it will be shipped.
If you only buy something from Amazon once a year, then "PRIME" is not a good deal, but if you shop there weekly, then it IS a good deal.
When buying anything over the Internet, it behooves you to know exactly what you're buying, who made it, and where it's coming from.

Happy New Year, Mates!

I think it's the issue of who makes it over where it's made.
It's ironic that 90% of the appliances they use are made in China and probably work with no issues. There's plenty of rubbish made in the US and elsewhere in the world including Europe.

Much of the 'quality merchandise' is made in China and merely rebranded for sale in the US. You can't really blame China for attempting to cut out the middleman. Manufacturers demand their wares be constructed at a price point and relentless pressure on suppliers to produce the same goods for less, year after year, is the primary reason you find crapola for sale. Put another way, if you always select your purchases on price alone, you are the problem.

Trying to buy something not made in China is almost impossible. I also know that just being made in China doesn't mean it's junk. Unless I bought the product before I'll take the time to read all of the product info provided. I do read the feedback/reviews but with a grain of salt. I'm not sure how Amazon does the reviews because I have seen a lot of feedback/reviews that were for a different product. I've also seen negative reviews that are so obviously the user was at fault.

The problem is that they sell what you want but they don't deliver what you ordered (according to descriptions and reviews). Reviews are fake and very often you did not get the quality you were expecting.
I buy a lot from Amazon and have never received a substitute product.

Just to add, I've never had any problems with Amazon either, because I'm careful what I order and where it's from.
My main gripe is that they don't properly check the 3rd-party sellers aren't scammers, which makes them complicit in any scam sales.
They need some accountability for what goes on their website, whether it's sold from Amazon directly or not.
If Amazon receives a number of complaints on a company or a product they should investigate and remove the company or product if the complaints are found to be true. If they don't then yes they are just as responsible as the company. Another problem is that if a company gets kicked off Amazon for scamming people they will just come back under a different name.

Here is some information from the listing. Note seller is listed as EXELNT with no mention of anywhere in the listing of the manufacturer AMD. Note in the listing that neither the seller or shipper is Amazon. NOTE: if you order it today you might even get it before the last return date!
EXELNT is listed as the brand and sold by: xiudebaihuo so this is a be careful how you read the product info example.

It doesn't make any difference. What exactly are they selling? Why aren't they calling them AMD CPU's? If they were official and affiliated with AMD they would say so. Too many questions. I would never buy from them.

And why is part of the CPU information blanked out in EVERY picture? 🤔
