Hi again everyone,

Apologies in advance if this has been answered before but I couldn't find it doing a search.

So I decided to try Aomei Basic and downloaded it. Managed a complete Data Backup to an external HDD no problem image seems fine and Aomei confirmed it.

Created a Boot USB using WPE I also tried with the Linux option. All seemed fine, and after the formatting and creation of the Boot disk I even saved the IRST_Intel_19.5.1.1040_W11x64 folder with the necessary files in the folder so I could point to the driver if needed so windows would see the SSD.

However, Aomei doesn't seem to give me the option to install a driver to see the SSD.
I'm sure there must be a way to build the USB boot disk to include the necessary IRST_Intel_19.5.1.1040_W11x64 drivers (.inf) file or whatever it needs so it will see the SSD drive and allow me to rebuild.

Your assistance with this will be highly appreciated.

Please bear in mind I'm on the other side of the world from the U.S.A. so if my response seems delayed, I'm probably fast asleep and snoring while you're typing ;-) but I promise to respond.

Many Thanks
Bubba :-)

Inject the IRST drivers into boot.wim and install.wim using dism (see tutorial section on www.tenforums.com how to inject drivers).

Never mind, it is quite easy to integrate into the bootable wim you have already made.

I'm sorry I did see the add drivers but it didn't do anything. I'm sure it's me I'm getting too old for this (Danny Glover quote here) rubbish.

I'll try again and get back to you

No Joy I'm afraid. Still not seeing the SSD, just the USB boot disk.

I can use a Rufus USB, I made with the win 11 ISO on it, which didn't need to have the IRST_Intel_19.5.1.1040_W11x64 drivers injected into the I just added the whole folder onto the USB and when it comes time the option to add the driver to recognise the driver it asks, is presented and the SSD is seen.

But that's not a configured backup as the Aomei Backup is, So any suggestions?

Surely if Aomei want people to use their product they would make it more user friendly.

Seeing the native (win 7) backup isn't really ideal anymore, one would think MS could easily team up with a company to provide a new native backup system or do one themselves, it's not like it would cost them anything, and it would provide GREAT PR for their product.

I'll keep looking but any more suggestions and assistance greatly appreciated.

Regards

What exactly would you be lending me SIW2 LOL,
I'm definitely getting too old for this. The auto correct above changed sH@# to rubbish just noticed it poor Danny Glover.

Anyway any help greatly appreciated I looked for (see tutorial section on www.tenforums.com how to inject drivers) Cerberus suggested but I can't find it...... not quite have the gist of things on this forum yet total newb.

Thank You Bubba

Dear SIW2,

After some time and trying different things,
1. new USB Pen drive
2. Different Computer to create boot USB with NEW download of AOMEI
3. New Download and extraction of drivers from ACER website USA
4. New AOMEI Boot creation on New USB drive with Newly extracted drivers
5. New winPE download

Lots of crossed fingers, toes and eyes it finally worked.

Gentlemen, thank you so very much for your willingness to assist an 'ol bum like me who clearly knows very little.

SIW2 Thank You for your help and especially your offer of the download. I like to try and do things myself to learn and activate my mind. Believe it or not I used to work in the industry, but my dementia, is taking a toll on my memory (that's my excuse anyway) plus the technology has changed a bit too. I'm not yet sure if I really like win 11, but I do understand that with all the hacking, ransom and physical attacks going on in this new world, I understand the need for security. Take Care!

My Sincerest Kindest Regards, you absolute STARS :star:

P.S. I have saved your link of how to integrate drivers into a WIM file for future reference :)
