Brother printer does not print

Hi, my printer (Brother DCP-L2540DW) has been working with my PC (win 11 25H2) for years without a hitch. Over night it stopped printing via my router. The print queue shows the job but displays "error". I've installed a new driver but no dice. Can someone help?

clear the print queue by using the commands:

Code: 
net stop spooler
Code: 
del %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.shd /F /S /Q
Code: 
del %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.spl /F /S /Q
Code: 
net start spooler

Reboot (not necessary but good practice)

have you tried setting up the printer with manual/static addressing
i have done this for my brother printer MFC-L3710CW
and no system (5) on the home network has a problem connecting.

I installed that printer when we bought it 6 or 7 years ago.
I have used it via router, my wife's laptop has used it via WiFi and my wife's PC has used via USB. Has worked ever since until recently.

Problems can be any number of sources within software or hardware
Software .. printer brand software, drivers, Windows
Hardware .. printer itself, cables, computer connections/ports, router

I would suggest some hands-on on-site expertise might be of benefit

Are you able to print a Test Page and if so,is it normal?
Have you tried ---Settings >System >Troubleshoot >Other Troubleshooters >Printer ?
Also the often overlooked ---Power off the printer and unplug it for a minute,then replug and power it up and see if that has any effect.
Check Reliability History for any entries.Accessed by typing ---reliability ---into the Search box.

No test page.
Printer unplugged for a minute, no dice.
Reliability no mention of any printer issues.
Driver link does not work. My printer does not exist in the UK.

Just found out that my wife's desktop (USB connection) prints fine, her laptop (WiFi) and my desktop (router connected) don't.
